German Band to Perform in New Glarus

October 12, 2017

As part of the continuing partnership with Bad Arolsen (Hesse, Germany), a group of 17 adults will be visiting New Glarus from October 14 - 16. Bernd Radeck, who has been the coordinator for the student exchange between New Glarus High School and Christian Rauch Schule for 30 years, is organizing the visit. Five members of the group form the Waldeck Salon Orchestra "CAPPUCCINO". The band, founded in 2005, is conducted by Rainer W. Boettcher, a music instructor from the Christian Rauch Schule. Creating the nostalgic tradition of the Viennese café house music, the ensemble performs the entertaining music of operettas, musicals, movie sound tracks, well-known waltzes, marches, dances, and jazz and pop standards. The fall 2017 USA "CAPPUCCINO" tour includes the performers Andrea Eiselt (violin), Eberhard Enss (flute), Martin Ulrich (oboe), Raffi Geliboluoglu (cello) and Rainer Boettcher (piano).

The group will be performing on Sunday, October 15, during and after worship at 10:30 a.m., at Shepherd of the Hills, New Glarus, and from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., on Sunday at the New Glarus Hotel. On Monday, October 16, there will be a short program and musical performance by the group at 8:15 a.m., at New Glarus High School to celebrate 30 years of the German American Partnership Program between New Glarus High School and the Christian Rauch Schule. The public is welcome to attend any and all of the performances to enjoy the music and to visit with the guests from Germany.
