Raiders Win Over Lake Mills

October 12, 2017

The Sugar River boys soccer team hosted Lake Mills on October 3rd, winning 6-1.

“Very strong performance by the Sugar River Raiders tonight,” said Coach Kyle Webber. “The boys were passing the ball well and making off the ball runs. Our finishing on the goal was very good tonight. A very good conference win for the Raiders.”

Matteo Latorre, assisted by Brock Kelly, scored the first goal for SR about seven minutes into the first half. That was followed by a goal from Jaden Kreklow, assisted by Brock Kelly. The team’s third goal was scored late in the first half by Tyler Lueschow. In the second half of the game, Sugar River scored twice early one, the first time Brock Kelly, assisted by Connor DeLorme, found the back of the goal and the second was scored by Jaden Kreklow. Lake Mills managed to get on the scoreboard with a goal, but three minutes later Max Xistris-Songpanya scored SR’s sixth and final goal to end the game. Tyler Boeck had two saves during the game. On October 5th, the team hosted Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld. The final score was Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld 1, Sugar River 0, after the game was called at halftime due to lightning in the area.

Sugar River played in Dodgeland on October 10th and will be playing at Mount Horeb on October 12th.
