Monticello Village Board Approves Advertising for Police Officers

April 12, 2018

The Monticello Village Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. All board members were present.

Carla Gogin of Baker & Tilly introduced herself and spoke to the board about the firm’s audit of the village. This is the first year that Baker & Tilly has done the audit for the village. She told the board that she has worked with municipalities for 25 years and has a team to support her. Gogin also thanked Village Clerk DaNean Naeger for her assistance with the audit. Gogin pointed out that as time goes on the firm will be able to develop more complete outlooks and trends for the village.

The board approved Temporary Operator licenses for James Marty, Brian Studer and Linn Lederman. The board also approved Temporary Class B Retailer licenses for the Lions Club for Spring Fling and the Monticello Historical Society for Night at the Museum. They also approved the Special Event permit for Spring Fling.

In the Public Works report, John Teasdale reported that an E-waste event would be held on April 11th and 14th. This year residents will be charged $0.35 per pound instead of flat fees for specific items.

Larry Strause told the board in the Public Safety report that the Police Department had 269 cases from January 1st through March 26th.

The board approved advertising for part-time police officers at law enforcement educational schools, the League of Municipality’s monthly magazine and local free papers.
