SR Track Places Second and Third at Platteville

On Saturday, March 21, 2015, the Sugar River track and field team competed in the first invitational of the season at UW-Platteville. The girls team finished third overall with 53 points while the boys team finished second overall with 58 points.
For the girls, junior Logan Fahey finished sixth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.01. Also competing in that event for Sugar River was junior Bridget Craker and junior Devyn Weiser.
Sophomore Krista Diaz placed fourth in the girls 200 meter dash with a time of 28.21 and Fahey finished 14th while Weiser finished 51st.

June 18 - 21st Saengerfest 2015 Comes to New Glarus

This summer, on June 18th – 21st, the North American Swiss Singing Alliance will hold the 41st Saengerfest in New Glarus, hosted by the Männerchor New Glarus. Held every three years, Saengerfest 2015 will provide many opportunities to enjoy music, entertainment and culture as this event brings together singers from the United States, Canada and Switzerland.

New Glarus High School Receives Project Lead The Way Certification for Engineering Program

New Glarus High School announced today that it has received national certification for its Project Lead The Way (PLTW) program that has been offered since 2007. This is the second time the school has gone through the national certification process to validate its program.  PLTW, a nonprofit organization and the nation’s leading provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education programs, offers a rigorous world-class curriculum that allows students to apply what they are learning in math and science class to real-life activities, projects and problems.

Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative Announces Additional Funding

The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has announced additional funding to address conservation needs in the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative Area. The focus will be to reduce soil erosion and improve fish and wildlife habitat on cold water streams, working lands, woodlands, and prairies.

Village Of Monticello Spring Clean Up Day

<strong>All Items Must be Separated/Sorted and Curbside By 7:00 a.m., on Monday, April 20, 2015.</strong>
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than 4’wide x 10’ long x 4’ high.
Items accepted are: Furniture and miscellaneous junk, burn barrels to be discarded must be empty, brush and scrap lumber with no tree limbs over 6” in diameter or 8’ in length – in separate pile stacked parallel with street, paint cans must be empty, or open with paint completely dried.

Belleville High School to Host Red Cross Blood Drive

The Belleville High School Student Council is proud to be hosting the annual Red Cross Blood drive on Wednesday, April 15, in the High School Gymnasium from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  We have a goal of collecting 35 or more units during this drive and we welcome all students, parents, and community members to get involved!
