Knights Fall in Doubleheader to Marshall

On Saturday, April 18, the New Glarus baseball team faced Marshall in a doubleheader on the road.
New Glarus lost the first game 8-2 and the second game 12-3.
Pitching on the mound the first game for the Knights was Koner French who went five innings with eight hits, eight runs, eight earned runs, five walks, and eight strikeouts. Andrew Nimtz hurled the last inning totaling one hit and one strikeout.
Offensively, John Chenoweth was one for three while French had one run. Jared Carney was one for two with one run, and Nimtz was one for two with one RBI.

NG Softball Dominated by Poynette, Cambridge

On Friday, April 17, Poynette dominated the New Glarus softball team 13-0.
Maya Kramer had the only hit of the night, and she pitched three innings giving up 10 earned runs, walking 10, and striking out one.
Riley Parker pitched the next inning giving up one earned run and walking two.
The Knights did not fare any better against Cambridge on Thursday, April 16, as they were defeated 14-0.
Sierra Whisler had two hits out of the team’s four.
On the mound, Parker pitched eight earned runs, two walks, and one strikeout.

Monticello Track and Field Results for Bluejay Invite

The Monticello track and field team competed in the Bluejay Invite on Thursday, April 16, at Cambridge High School.
The boys and girls team both finished in ninth place overall.
For the boys, junior Andy Yaun finished seventh in the 100 meter run and also finished eighth in the 200 meter run where senior Thorin Croushore placed 15th. Yaun took second in the 400 meter run with a time of 53.11.

SR Boys Track Team Takes Second, Girls Take Third

On Thursday, April 16, the Sugar River track and field team participated in the Bluejay Invite at Cambridge High School.
The boys team placed second overall with 139 points, only 11.75 points behind top finisher Cambridge. On the girls side, Sugar River finished in third overall with 108 points behind Cambridge and Turner.

Sandell Promoted to Personal Banker

The Bank of New Glarus and Sugar River Bank Branches is pleased to announce the promotion of Codi Sandell to Personal Banker at the Monroe location. Codi was hired in January as a Customer Service Representative, also at the Monroe branch. In her new role, Codi will be responsible for servicing customer needs, and maintaining customer relationships.

Saengerfest 2015 Comes to New Glarus

This summer, on June 18th – 21st, the North American Swiss Singing Alliance will hold the 41st Saengerfest in New Glarus, hosted by the Männerchor New Glarus. Held every three years, Saengerfest 2015 will provide many opportunities to enjoy music, entertainment and culture as this event brings together singers from the United States, Canada and Switzerland.

New Glarus Competes in Math 24 Tournament

The New Glarus Middle School Math Team participated in the Math 24 Tournament, hosted by the University of Wisconsin – Madison, on March 12.  Nine students from each grade, 4th-8th, competed in the annual event against 231 students from nine area schools.  The 4th and 5th graders competed in the morning, while 6th, 7th and 8th graders competed in the afternoon.

The New Glarus class of 2016 cordially invites you to our junior prom, themed “Once Upon A Time,” on Saturday, May 2, 2015.
The dance will be from 7:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m., with the Grand March at 8:30 p.m.  Tickets for the Prom are $7.00 for students at the door, tickets for Adults and children are $2.00.
