New Glarus Post Prom Plans

This year we are planning a Post Prom Casino Night. We will be playing Casino style games of chance, running Piggy Races and playing some games we haven’t even thought of yet. We also will be offering movies, food, Karaoke, PRIZES, and FUN, FUN, FUN.

Local Insurance Company and Insurance Agency Team Up to Support Susan G. Komen Fundraising

Employees from Mt Pleasant-Perry Mutual Insurance Company and Tri-Insure are joining together to form one team in the upcoming Race for the Cure being held on May 30th.  Five of the employees have been involved in a walking competition for the past six months, and their competition is winding to a close.  They decided this would be a great way to celebrate the number of miles they have put under their feet to better their own health and also be able to give back to a wonderful cause.

Monticello Dairy Queen Candidates

The Green County Ag Chest invites area girls to consider being a candidate for the Monticello Dairy Queen. To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior for the upcoming school year at Monticello High School. The Monticello Dairy Queen is one of 11 queens that represent their community, Green County, and Wisconsin in the promotion of dairy products, resources, industries, tourism and people; especially the youth and youth organizations.

State FBLA Leadership Conference

On April 13 and 14, Monticello students Kody Klitzke, Ben May and Dezmond Hanenberger attended the State FBLA Leadership Conference in La Crosse, WI. While there, the members attended leadership assemblies and breakout sessions, competed in events, voted for leadership, and witnessed a BMX bike show.

Monticello High School Post Prom 2015

The Monticello High School Post Prom Committee works with parents, community members, businesses and organizations to encourage our students to enjoy and celebrate safely and responsibly by hosting a post prom party for all of our high school students. The 2015 Post Prom will be held in the Elmer Lemon Gym on May 2-3, from 11:00 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Entertainment will include outdoor movies and a performance by hypnotist Jeff Michaels.

Piano Recital to be held at Zwingli UCC

The students of Mrs. Carolyn Hilliard will be holding a Piano Recital on Sunday, April 26, 2015. The recitals will take place at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and will be held at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.

Free Compost Will be Offered by Dane County

Dane County will be giving away compost by the car and truckload for free from April 20-25, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., to help backyard gardeners and growers get through another growing season. The county will offer one load of free compost for residential use per person, per day, at the Verona and Waunakee compost sites.

Location: 5254 Hwy. 19 one-half mile east of the Hwy. 19 & 113 intersection. Across from the former Sparby’s Christmas Barn.

Breakfast with the Belleville Area EMS

Before you start your long day of finding deals and steals on Saturday, May 2, 2015, during the Belleville Community Garage Sales, stop by the EMS Building, located at 480 River Street, for Breakfast with the EMS.
Breakfast will be served from 6:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., and the menu includes French Toast and Sausage for $4.00; a “McRescue” Sandwich for $4.00; Cinnamon Rolls for $1.00; and Milk, Orange Juice and Coffee.

Money Smart Week

The School District of Belleville is participating in Money Smart Week. On Thursday, April 23, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at Belleville Elementary School, students will be participating in the Big Read event. A book will be read to the students about financial literacy by Superintendent Pam Yoder. Ray Allen, Secretary of Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, will be present for the reading and talking to students about financial literacy.
