American Legion Recognizes Local Heroes

The American Legion wants to now recognize some other heroes of our community. Each year, local Legion posts are encouraged to recognize public safety personnel for their service to the community. While the program is also a competition that recognizes Law Officers, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and Enlisted Guardsman/Reservists at County, District, State and National levels, it is primarily a program which honors these folks for doing their job 24/7 and protecting the citizens of their community.

Naturally Speaking

When entire trees began to show colors, particularly white, this is an indication that the black locust and wild black cherry trees are in flower.
Yes, tall trees, almost all trees, produce flowers but most tree flowers are small and don't have showy petals and other parts. There is a reason for this variation, a method in extremism, so to speak.
Trees, the oaks, walnuts and birches, produce tiny insignificant-looking flowers because these trees are wind-pollinated. The wind doesn't care what a flower looks like. Wind carries any light pollen everywhere.
