Ice Cream Social and Crowning of New Glarus Dairy Queen

The Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Ice Cream Social in conjunction with the crowning of the New Glarus Dairy Queen on Tuesday, June 9, 2015.
The ceremony will be held at the American Legion Hall located at 1121 2nd Street, New Glarus. Serving of Barbecue Sandwiches, Potato Salad, Chips, Pie, Ice Cream and Beverages will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the Dairy Queen crowning taking place at 6:00 p.m. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend.

Dear Editor,
The New Glarus Music Boosters would like to extend a warm thank you to the businesses and many individuals who made our concession stand on Friday evening such a success.
We want to express our appreciation to Roy’s Market and Fat Cat Coffeeworks for their generous donations for our fundraiser.  We would also like to thank the many Music Booster families who volunteered both their time and fabulously delicious desserts to the cause!

Jerrald L. Zweifel

Jerrald L. Zweifel, age 68 of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. Jerry was born September 22, 1946, to Wilbert and Velma (Smith) Zweifel at Madison General Hospital.
He graduated from Evansville High School in 1965. He was married to Margaret Lechleitner and divorced.

<strong>Hraban Named to Dean’s List at UW-Superior</strong>
The University of Wisconsin-Superior has named <strong>Sharon Hraban</strong>, Monticello, to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Spring 2015 semester.
To be named to the Dean’s List students must have completed 12 degree-seeking semester credits and achieved at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Monticello Foundation News

The Monticello Foundation is making plans for their 17th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club in New Glarus.  The annual fundraiser features a golf package including 18-hole course fee, golf cart, dinner and door prizes for only $80.00 per person.  Businesses and individuals are encouraged to be “hole sponsors” for a $30.00 donation, and door prize donations are also accepted.

Dorst, 70 years of continuous membership; Roger Klassy, 70 years of continuous membership; Delmar Kubly, 70 years of continuous membership; Steve Hodgson, Post #141 Commander; Front Row; Julie Strickler and John Strickler, daughter and son of Palmer Strickler, who had 70 years of continuous membership.
