Summer Reading Program Kicks Off

A large crowd enjoyed lots of laughter and silly hillbilly science experiments at the kickoff performance of Belleville Public Library's summer reading program.  The next performer will be Professor Marvel's Super Hero Magic Show at 1:00 p.m., on June 30.

New Wisconsin Voter Photo ID Rules

Town Clerk Julie L. Bigler urges voters in the Town of Montrose to plan now to make sure they have an acceptable photo ID to vote beginning with the February 2016 Election.
Most voters already have one of the types of photo ID required to vote.
Election Day
On Election Day, voters must show one of the following photo IDs before they can cast a ballot:
Wisconsin Driver License
Wisconsin State ID Card
Military ID Card
U.S. Passport Book or Card

Single Oak Farm Country Garden Stroll on Sunday, June 28

Single Oak Farm Country Garden Stroll, 1051 State Road 92, Verona, will be on Sunday, June 28, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Come and enjoy an afternoon at a country garden, with music by Ron and Rosalie, bars and cookies and beverages as you wander about. Homemade pies will be auctioned off and silent auction items available for your bidding. If you’d like to donate a pie and/or silent auction item, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sparks to Perform Saturday Night at the Dane County Fair

Pop superstar Jordin Sparks is set to take the stage as the Saturday night entertainment at the Dane County Fair. Main stage entertainment will start at 7:00 p.m., on July 18, 2015, on the Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison stage, presented by local radio station, 93.1 Jamz. Nightly concerts are free with Fair admission.

Public Ideas Wanted

The Village of Belleville is undergoing a major facilities study for the Village.
It is looking at projecting a 20-year service need and develop a course of action to see that the Village’s current and any future facilities meet those needs. An American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance review is also a component of the study.

Fire Department Visits Belleville Public Library for Summer Program

As part of Belleville Public Library's hero-themed summer program, the Belleville Fire Department came to visit.  A big thanks to Johan Veeneman and Doug Babler for bringing their gear and fire truck for the kids to see.  Maybe sitting in the truck will inspire a future firefighter. Relay For Life Silent Auction

Teams participating in the Relay For Life of Green County will hold a silent auction beginning on Wednesday, June 24th and continuing until the Relay event on Saturday, June 27th.
Auction items may be seen at the First Merit Bank in Brodhead and the Wisconsin Bank and Trust in Monroe. Silent auction items include a large variety of baskets, gift certificates, unique handcrafted items and jewelry.
Stop in at the banks to place your bids in support of Relay For Life of Green County.

2015 Green County Dairy Days in Albany

Green County Dairy Days is getting ready to kick off the 2015 season with events in and around this year’s host, Albany.
This year’s Queen’s Banquet will be hosted by last year’s Dairy Queen, local Albany resident, Sayde McDermott. The banquet will be held in the form of a Brunch on Saturday, June 27th, beginning with Moo-Tails at 9:00 a.m., at the Albany Lions Club Building at 402 N. Cincinnati St in Albany.

Storm Roars through Area on Monday

High winds and heavy rain caused damage around the area on Monday, June 22.
There were numerous reports of power outages, damage to buildings, and many trees and branches on roadways.
Anyone living in Green County that sustained severe storm damage during Monday's storms is asked to call the Green County Emergency Management office at (608) 328-9416 to report damages. Anyone who received storm damage but is not a resident of Green County can report damages to their local emergency management office.
