Kalberwurst Dinner Set for April 18

The Annual Kalberwurst Supper will be from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Zwingli United Church of Christ in Monticello. Everyone in the community and surrounding area is encouraged to come and enjoy this delicious meal.
The dinner includes Kalberwurst (veal sausage), Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Copper Penny Carrots, Applesauce, Swiss Bread, Cookies and Bars. Carryouts are available, please call (608) 938-4369. Cost is $13.00 for adults; $5.00 for children 5 to 10; and free for children 4 and under.

Gap Church Board to Hold Three Fundraisers

The annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the Gap Church Museum Inc. and Cemetery Association was held recently. The board will hold three fundraisers to help cover the costs of repairs needed.
The Sixth Annual Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., inside the Community Hall. The board is looking for donations of items, which would be tax deductible. Some restrictions will apply, no electronics or clothing will be accepted. Pick up of items can be arranged. An open house will be held in conjunction with the event.

Belleville Wildcat Girls Basketball Camp 2015

The Belleville Girls One through Seven “Hoops” camp is offered to introduce the offensive and defensive concepts of “Lady Wildcat” Basketball. All camps will provide instruction of basic skills and help develop fundamental practice habits for each camper. Along with the basic skills and fundamentals, the camp will introduce the concepts of team play, sportsmanship, listening skills, and Wildcat basketball vocabulary. Campers will receive a t-shirt if the registration is received by June 19, 2015.

Raiders Soccer Season Comes to an End after Loss to Edgewood

The Raiders' championship soccer season (19-4-1) came to an end in a sectional game against the Edgewood High School Crusaders. The Raiders, with a number one seed and hosting the game, dominated play in the first 45 minutes of the game. Jackie Burgess scored the lone goal in the first half and gave the Raiders the lead at half with a score of 1 to 0. The second half saw the Crusaders put the ball in the net for the equalizer and then in the 76th minute of the game, score the game-winning goal. The Raiders had many scoring opportunities but were unable to pull out a win.

May to Play in All-Star Basketball Game

2015 Monticello High School graduate and standout basketball player Ben May will be playing in the 2015 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association State Boys' Basketball All-Star game on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. The game will take place at the JustAGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells.
Proceeds from this game will go directly to the Midwest Athletes Childhood Cancer fund and will help in the fight against childhood cancer.

American Cancer Society to Paint Green County Purple for Relay For Life

The American Cancer Society is seeking businesses and organizations to get involved in the Relay For Life movement by displaying purple ribbons and other decorations from June 21–27, 2015. “Paint Our Town Purple” is a time to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, and to have some fun with the color purple to bring attention to the American Cancer Society’s many programs and services in our community. Purple is the signature color of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life program, which represents all cancers.
