Dane County Talent Show Set for July 11

For the first time, Belleville area youth and teens can enter the Dane County Talent Show, which will send two age division winners to the Wisconsin State Fair Talent Show later this summer.
Entrants are being accepted for the 2015 Dane County Talent Show, which will be held on Saturday afternoon, July 11, at the Goodman Community Center, located at 149 Waubesa Street in Madison.

Dairy Days Awards Looking for Nominees

The Green County Dairy Days Awards are looking for any AG/Business Women or Couple who are an active part of any agricultural operation or business. The contest is open to anyone who lives and/or works in Green County, as well as having buildings located in the school districts or villages in Green County. Previous winners are not eligible. The contest is divided into three divisions: (1) Women under age 40, (2) Women over age 40, (3) Oldest Active Farm Couple. Entries are due on Saturday, June 20, 2015. No entries will be accepted after this date!

Cheese Days Ambassador Needed for 2016

Green County Cheese Days is seeking an ambassador for the 2016 festival. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by November 1, 2015, and demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience in the dairy and/or cheese industry. Preference will be given to applicants with experience or training in communications, marketing and/or public relations.
Official duties of the Cheese Days ambassador begin in November 2015. The ambassador will represent the festival at state, regional, and local events. Duties include public speaking, interviews, appearances, and social media.

Loras College Provost Cheryl Jacobsen, Ph.D. has announced the names of students who achieved Dean’s List status for the 2015 spring semester. A student must earn a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours to be recognized. <strong>Alexis M. Hanson</strong>, New Glarus, was named to the Dean’s List.

8-Miles of Ag-Tiques

Anyone checked their calendars??  It’s almost July 4th!!!
That means time for our 11th year of “8-MILES OF AG-TIQUES” on July 3rd, 4th and 5th, Friday and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
We are along HWY 26N to HWY 69S, between Orangeville, IL, and Monroe, WI.  All along the highway are different shows with different colors and brands of tractors, machinery, etc.  There’s food, machinery, crafts, tractor drives, and lots of “Do you remember this’s?”  Visit with the owners and see how proud everybody is of their machines.

James R. Hopkins

James R. Hopkins, age 93 of Monticello, formerly of rural Argyle, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at UW Hospital. Jim was born June 26, 1921, in Yorkville, IL, the son of James A. and Georgia M. (Stolp) Hopkins.
