Top 10 New Glarus Seniors

On Monday, May 8th, ten New Glarus High School students were honored at the Capitol Conference Honors Banquet.  The banquet is a celebration with the other schools in the Capitol Conference of the top ten students in each graduating class.  The banquet was held at the Sheraton in Madison, and the students and their parents were in attendance.  Congratulations to these students for your accomplishments!

Music Fest on Memorial Day Weekend

New Glarus Music Fest, the annual entertainment event that draws throngs of music lovers from throughout south-central Wisconsin to America’s Little Switzerland, is once again scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, Friday, May 26 – Sunday, May 28. This year, though, the summer kick-off event is expanding from the confines of one tented venue to the entire village of New Glarus and all of downtown is set to be a stage.

Area Children Invited To Join New Glarus Kinderchor

Kinderchor rehearsals begin on Monday, June 5th, at 6:30 p.m., at the New Glarus Home Campus. We meet outside under the shelter near the Multi-Purpose Room and Chapel. Enrollment fee is $15.00 per member. Children ages 5 and up are welcome to participate. Sign up at rehearsal.

Monticello Lioness Gift of Sight Fellowship Awards

Monticello Lioness Lillian Piette and Lioness Karen Gempeler were awarded the Gift of Sight Fellowship recently. The Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin (LEBW) commends you for your unselfish dedication, service and commitment to Giving the Gift of Sight. Lillian and Karen's names will be displayed on the Lions Eye Bank Wall of Honor. Lioness Lillian is a Charter Member of the Monticello Lionesses, being chartered on April 28, 1981. There were 17 charter members.  Lioness Karen has been a member since 2003, and has been the Secretary since 2007.

Monticello Spring Fling Goes On Despite the Weather

Relentless rain and chilly temperatures forced the cancellation of some of the events planned for Spring Fling on Saturday, May 20, 2017. The Monticello Fire Department still held their Annual Pig Roast and the music went on in the Village Park. New Glarus Seniors Lend a Helping Hand to the Community

Members of the New Glarus Senior Class of 2017 spent the day helping out in the community on Friday, May 5th. The group helped members of the New Glarus community with yard work, planting, brush clearing, painting, and other miscellaneous outside projects.  Thank you Seniors!

Monticello Schools Day of Community Service

Monticello students participated in a Community Day of Service on Friday, May 12th. Students did a number of tasks around the community including painting trim on the storage shed at the library, spreading mulch at the village playground, building broadhead bunkers at Marshall Bluff, cleaning up along local roads, working in the flower beds at the school and at resident's homes, beautifying the downtown with some awesome chalk art on the sidewalks, visiting local day cares, washing windows, cleaning school buses, yard work and more!
