While the holidays are a hard time to be away from home, the U.S. Postal Service makes it a priority that those serving their country will receive their presents, care packages and cards in time for the holidays – no matter where they may be.

Save the Date for the Alzheimer's Summit

The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Southwest Wisconsin-Green County, along with the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin and the Monroe Clinic, are excited to announce the Alzheimer’s Summit scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
This year’s summit will include keynote speakers Dr. Steven Barczi, Former Wisconsin Governor Martin J. Schreiber, Dr. Lori Phelps and Suanne Zimmerman.

Bulb Planting/Growing - Beyond Tulips and Daffodils

Green County Master Gardeners is pleased to announce Lisa Johnson, Horticulture Educator, Dane County UW-Extension, will be presenting “Small Bulbs-Beyond Tulips and Daffodils” at their upcoming meeting on Thursday, October 26, 2017, beginning at 7:00 p.m., at the Green County Justice Center, Monroe, WI. Learn about small spring flowering bulbs that are less common, such as Glory-of-the-Snow and Puschkinia. This presentation covers 13 species of small bulbs and a number of cultivars, and focuses on uses and cultivation.

GCGS Program on Lineage Societies

The Green County Genealogical Society will have a panel discussion on the “Why and How to Join a Lineage Society” for the November 4th meeting program. A panel of members of lineage societies will discuss the requirements, process, and benefits of joining their society. A question and answer period will follow their presentations.

Kelty Supports NFL Players and Staff

Dear Editor,
I do agree that NFL players and staff have the right to protest peacefully. This a right afforded by the U.S. Constitution and the real reason why our military personnel have fought and many died for our RIGHT to peacefully protest and bring our grievances before our government. This issue has been completely blown out of proportion by the alt-right propagandizing machine in our nation for the express purpose of an agenda to ‘divide and conquer’.

The New Glarus Area EMS would like to thank the New Glarus Community Foundation, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, in support of the purchase of a Siren Amplifier. The amplifier has been an asset in assisting with heavy traffic and the ability to alert drivers to the ambulance behind them. Quilt of Valor Presented to Wittenwyler

Ruth Wittenwyler received her Quilt of Valor at the New Glarus Home on Monday, October 16, 2017, before a group of family and friends.  Ruth served in the US Army during WWll.  Ruth's quilt was sewn by Sugar River Quilts of Valor.
