Reese Shares Joy of Easter

Dear Editor,
Discouraged, sad – a lot of words like these describe how most of us feel when we listen to the news each day.  We know that time changes many things and people – but this is far from the world where most of us grew up. I needed to lift my spirits.  Since I don’t drink or pop pills, I decided to go to church – where in a nearby town the church was having their huge estate – rummage sale. I stood inside the large room filled with table after table of what was once someone’s treasures. The aisles were filled with shoppers.

Go Bigs or Go Home Trivia Contest a Success

Dear Editor,
The 2nd annual “Go Bigs or Go Home” Trivia Contest was held on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Puempel’s Olde Tavern and netted over $1,200. Beginning this coming May, the first of several scholarships in memory of Jeremy Bigler will be awarded to a graduate who has been active in both high school sports and band.

Green Bay Packers Student Art Contest

Student artists are invited to share an artistic representation of “100 Seasons of Packers Football” for the second annual Green Bay Packers Student Art Contest. Bring 100 seasons of Packers football to life through your artistic talents, and your artwork could be displayed at Lambeau Field. Three finalists will have their artwork displayed at Lambeau Field for the duration of the 2018 season and will receive $5,000 for their school’s art program, as well as an invitation to Lambeau Field in July 2018.

Sugar River Youth Wrestling

Six Sugar River youth wrestlers took to the mats at the Alliant Energy Center last Friday and Saturday for State competition.  
They came home with 2-3rd place finishers and went 13-10 respectively in all of their matches.

New Glarus Bakery Wins Several Awards at Expo

The New Glarus Bakery was one of the over 80 beginners and professionals representing 37 bakeries and schools from around the state of Wisconsin and upper Illinois in the 2018 Midwest Foodservice Expo, hosted by the Wisconsin Bakers Association in partnership with the Wisconsin Restaurant Association, which was held in Milwaukee.
