Occupation: Donor Support Coordinator with the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin.
Years lived in village: One currently, but I lived in the village for many years after graduating from Monticello High School.
Incumbent? No
Have you been on the village board or held any other public office before? If so please describe: I have never held a publicly elected position but I have been appointed to and served on several board and committees. In Platteville I was on the Police and Fire Commission and the Library Board among others.

March Meeting of the Monticello Area Historical Society

The Monticello Area Historical Society (MAHS) will meet at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 22, 2018, in the Zwingli UCC Lounge, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.
Following a short meeting, Gary Tipler will present an illustrated review on John W. Steinmann.
Gary Tipler, a historic preservation consultant, began his work in the mid-1970s in advocating for historic preservation in Madison’s Marquette Neighborhood. He’s called the neighborhood his home and is still involved there.

Monticello High School Post Prom 2018

The Monticello High School Post Prom Planning Committee is in the process of planning the 2018 Post Prom Party. This year the party, to be held following the Junior Prom on Saturday, April 21, 2018, will be held at the Monticello High School.
The students will be spending the night enjoying pizza, soda and a variety of activities, including a swimming, basketball and games at the Green County YMCA. The committee is dependent upon donations to help with providing a fun event and to keep our students safe during prom night.

Monticello Lions Pancake Brunch

The Monticello Lions Club will be holding their annual Pancake Brunch on Sunday, March 18, 2018, in the Rhemstedt Gym at the Monticello School from 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. On the menu are Pancakes, Sausage Links, Applesauce, Cheese and your choice of beverage.
Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids 12 and under. The Brunch is sponsored by the Monticello Lions Club and the Monticello Spanish Club.

Youth Baseball Registration

Belleville Youth Baseball would like to invite all kids entering into pre-K through current juniors to register for summer youth baseball on March 20, 2017, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Belleville High School Commons.
The 4K, Kindergarten and First Grade can register for T-Ball and Coach Pitch, while the kids entering 2nd grade through seniors can sign up for youth baseball. This year the baseball fundraiser will be Bucky Books. You can pick up your Bucky Book on the night of registration.
We look forward to seeing you all at registration.

High School Students of the Month - February

On Friday, March 9th, Belleville High School staff recognized students-of-the-month from February. Students were treated to a Tano's Pizza lunch. They received a personalized certificate from their nominating teacher and movie passes donated by Marcus Theaters (as part of their Student Motivation Program). Teachers noted that these students took on rigorous academic courses, helped other students, and demonstrated leadership. Congratulations to these exceptional Wildcats!

Monticello Close to Goal at Last Blood Drive; Thanks to Donors

Dear Editor,
We would like to thank all of the people who helped to make our most recent blood drive a success. The Red Cross Blood Drive held in Monticello on February 23rd collected 43 units of blood, which was only one unit short of our goal of 44 units. Thirty-three units were collected as single units and twelve Power Reds, also called Doubles, brought us nearly to our target. While most of the donors were seasoned veterans, we also had two first-timers (Yay!).
