Chladil Frustrated With Library Director Hiring Process

Dear Editor,
I am writing in concern of the issues occurring at the Monticello Public Library. I am very upset by what the Village Chair of Monticello, Tere Dunlap, accused a worker of and how she made a public issue out of something that should have been handled at a local level.

Overdose Reversal Drug NARCAN Presentation and Training

Heidi Olson-Streed, a prevention specialist with ARCW-Madison, will be training interested persons on how to identify and respond to an opiate overdose; how to administer NARCAN and follow-up services; factors in fatal overdoses; information on how to access NARCAN via your doctor or pharmacist on Wednesday, March 21st, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Belleville High School Auditorium at 635 W. Church Street.

SYLVIA B. MOEN

Sylvia B. Moen, age 97, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the New Glarus Home. She was born on October 27, 1920, the daughter of Sever C. and Bertha (Eide) Engen.
Sylvia grew up near Forward in the Town of Perry. On May 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Peter E. Moen at the Primrose Lutheran Church. Sylvia farmed with her husband until 1972 when they moved to town in New Glarus. Following their move off the farm, Sylvia worked as an aide at Pleasant View in Monroe for ten years. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Two Injured in STH 69 Crash

At 1:11 p.m., Deputies, along with Monticello Fire Department, New Glarus Area EMS, New Glarus Police Department, Green County Highway Department and Green County EMS, were called to the intersection of State Highway 69 and County Highway C, in Mount Pleasant Township, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries reported. Investigation revealed a vehicle that was stopped at the stop sign on the west side of the intersection for County Highway C failed to yield the right of way to a southbound vehicle on Highway 69. The driver of the vehicle on County Highway C was identified Leland R.

Several Monticello FCCLA Members to Compete at State

Congratulations to all who competed at Regional Star Events in Oregon on February 12th. Sarah Blumer, Seth Culberson and Evan Rufer all received golds, Claire Klossner received a silver, Jenna Sherman and Inanda Converse received bronze. The gold and silver recipients will move on to compete at State in April. Good luck!
