Music Fest in New Glarus

The temperatures soared into the mid 90s during Music Fest in New Glarus. There was still plenty to do including enjoying great food downtown and at the New Glarus Lions Club Chicken Barbecue.
Bands performed throughout the festival at various locations and businesses.
There were lots of family friendly activities.

Monticello Class of 2018

The Commencement Ceremony for the Monticello Class of 2018 was held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, in the Rehmstedt Gyn. Student speakers were Callisa Briggs, Erin Lehr and Austin Blumer.
The Main Speaker was Monticello High School English Teacher Paul Burk. Monticello High School Principal Mark Gustafson and District Administrator Allen Brokopp also spoke.

A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians-Renaissance Faire Moves to Circus World

A Gathering of Rogues and Ruffians-A Renaissance Faire, the annual fundraiser event held by Shakespeare on the Edge, has found a new home in Baraboo, WI.  The faire will be moving October 13 and 14, 2018, to the home of the Ringling Brothers Circus—Circus World.

Third Annual Monticello PTO Pony Trot

The Third Annual Monticello PTO Pony Trot will be held Saturday, July 7. The event consists of a 1K Little Pony Run starting at 8:00 a.m., and a 5K Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. The event will be at Monticello Schools, with registration opening on the playground at 7:30 a.m. Bathrooms and showers will be available.

Run for Fun Summer Track Meets for Kids

Join us at the Belleville High School track to participate in our summer program – Run for Fun.  This is a program that all area youth (not just Belleville students), preschool age to entering 8th grade, can take part in. 
Events that the youth may participate in include 25m, 75m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 1600m runs, relay, long jump, 18” hurdles and shot put.  Some events are specific to the various age groups.

Knights Advance in Regionals

The New Glarus baseball team hosted Cambridge on May 24th, in a WIAA Regional Game. The Knights were seeded #4 for postseason play while Cambridge was seeded #5. The Knights won the game in a last-minute effort, 2-1. The teams were tied at 1-1 until the bottom of the 8th when Reeve Binger was struck by a pitch, driving in a run by Holden Latsch.
Connor Siegenthaler and Reeve Binger were both 1x2 at bat, while Jared Carney was 1x4 with one run scored.

Sugar River Soccer Earns Capitol Conference Championship Finishes Season Undefeated

The Sugar River Raiders soccer team continued their undefeated season by shutting out Lake Mills on May 22nd, 7-0. The team scored four goals in the first half and three in the second.
On May 24th, the Raiders defeated Stoughton 2-1 in their regular season finale. This is the first time in school history that the Raiders have had an undefeated season.
