Sugar River Soccer On Their Way to State!

On a warm, clear night, the Sugar River Soccer team faced Mount Horeb at home for the Sectional Semifinal game on June 7th. With the 3-2 win, the team became Sectional Champions.
Less than 8 minutes into the game, Kalin O'Rourke, assisted by Eve Palmer, scored the first goal of the game. At 31:20, O'Rourke scored goal number two for Sugar River.

Belleville Class of 2018

Belleville School District held a Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2018 on Sunday, June 10th in the High School Gym. Friends and families gathered in the Belleville High School Gym to congratulate the Class of 2018.
The Valedictorian was Otto Anson and the Salutatorian was Riley Medenwald.

Girl Scouts Hold Crossover Ceremony

The 3rd grade Brownie (now 4th grade Junior) Girl Scout Troop #1531 had a crossover ceremony with first grade Daisy (now second grade Brownie) Troop #7200 on Sunday, June 3rd, at Belleville Community Park and enjoyed a delicious cake made by Nancy Marty, owner of A Piece of Cake in New Glarus. The leaders of Junior Troop #1531 are Crystal Fahrenkrug and Andrea Ziegler.

Hello! My name is Sarah Blumer, and I am thrilled to be a 2018-2019 Monticello Dairy Queen candidate. My parents are Ron and Jen Blumer. I am currently a sophomore at Monticello High School, where I am involved in several clubs including FFA, FCCLA, Spanish Club, and Student Council. I am also very involved in high school athletics. The sports I participate in include volleyball, basketball, and golf.

As my year comes to an end I am filled with both gratitude and sadness. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities this year as presented me with. I am grateful for to have had the opportunity to promote Green County agriculture and its tourism while attending so many wonderful events. I am grateful for being able to make a difference, being able to help and serve others.

Monroe Clinic Hospice Fundraiser Dinner and ^A Little Golf^"

The annual fundraiser for Monroe Clinic Hospice, Dinner & “A Little Golf,” will be held Tuesday, June 12. “A Little Golf” at Swissland Miniature Golf Course, 700 Hwy 69 South, New Glarus, will begin at 4:00 p.m. Dinner and a silent auction will follow at New Glarus Hotel, 100 6th Avenue, New Glarus, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Pink Cadillac Ladies Fundraising for the Relay For Life Team

The American Cancer Society has several Relay For Life events in the area throughout the year, and the Pink Cadillac Ladies team will be walking on Friday, July 20, in Mount Horeb.
The team is walking to honor all cancer survivors and those who have lost their battle because everyone’s life has been touched by this horrible disease.
Additionally, the team will walk in honor of two local ladies who are battling, Kelly Pankratz and Renee Funseth.

Relay For Life Coloring Contest

This year’s Relay For Life of Green County event will be held on Saturday, June 23, from 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., at SLICE in Monroe. “Be a Superhero” is the theme and all activities, campsites and laps will be focusing on this. A new youth activity is a coloring contest to help them learn about cancer and share their talents in the fight against it. Many youth have family members or friends who have been affected and part of this activity is to provide a way for them to learn about what cancer is, prevention guidelines, and how to deal with cancer when it affects them or a loved one.

Seeking Nominations for Farm/Agri-Business Women and Oldest Active Farm Couple

Monticello is hosting the 2018 Green County Dairy Days and the committee is seeking nominations for the Green County Dairy Days Awards. The contest is open to any AG/Business Woman or Couple who are an active part of any operation or business. The contest is open to anyone who lives and/or works in Green County, as well as having buildings located in the school districts or villages in Green County. Previous winners are not eligible.
The contest is divided into 3 divisions:
Agri-business Woman under age 40
Agri-business Woman age 40 and over
