Belleville Village Board Approves Moving Forward with Library Project

After removing the item of business that was tabled until the July 16 village board meeting and further discussion of moving forward with the Belleville Public Library and Community Center project, the village board members voted 4 to 1 to proceed with the design work during the July 2 regular village board meeting. Two board members were not present.

Green County Fair Welcomes All to 2018 Military Appreciation Day

The Green County Fair will be honoring past and present military men and women of Green County, Wisconsin, during the 7:00 p.m. Professional Bull Riding and Barrel Racing performance. The New Glarus VFW Honor Guard will be presenting the colors.

Nancy M. Donlin, age 79 of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Agrace HospiceCare, Inc. in Fitchburg. She was born on September 10, 1938 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison to her parents, Norman and Florence (Streiff) Fischl.

Garden Stroll Appreciation

The 10th annual Garden Stroll was a great success due to the generous help of this community. Thanks to all who gave items for the Silent Auction, baked pies for the Pie Auction and made cookies and bars for everyone to enjoy. Then we need to thank all who came and participate in this wonderful event, it truly was a blessing.

The University of Dubuque congratulates the following local student for being appointed to the Spring Semester 2018 Academic Dean’s List: Andrew Newberry, New Glarus. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for that semester.

Schwartzlow Family Reunion to be Held

The Schwartzlow reunion will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Putnam Park, 6th Street and W. 3rd Avenue, in Brodhead, from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Will eat around Noon.
Please bring a dish to pass. Table service, broasted chicken, ham and bottled water will be provided. Spread the word to other members of your family.

Annual Hustad Family Reunion to be Held

The 86th Hustad Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018, beginning at Noon, at the Veterans Memorial Park in New Glarus. The park is located across from the elementary school on Second Street.
Please bring a dish to pass, your own table service and beverage as well as a “Bingo” prize.

Belleville Library Completes $150,000 Challenge Grant

The Belleville community has met the matching grant challenge from the Schlecht Family Foundation by raising $150,000 since February 1, 2018, for Belleville’s new Library and Community Center.
The combined community and foundation gift total of $300,000 brought the library’s capital campaign within $50,000 of the $1,000,000 goal.
