New Glarus Village Engineer Feels Glarner Park Should Stay a Green Space

The New Glarus Village Board met on August 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., in the Village Hall Community Room. All board members were in attendance.
Mark Hawley was the first to speak during the public comments, noting that he and his wife were on the agenda to speak later in the meeting. Hawley asked that everyone who spoke during the public comments section treat each other with respect.
Mark Deal spoke next, saying that he had questions regarding Glarner Park. He said he voted for the park in the referendum.

Police Chief Accepts Donation

During Thrivent Generosity Days on July 28th, a fleece blanket booth was set up to make blankets for local law enforcement and emergency organizations. Shown in the photo is Monticello Police Chief Szvon Conway accepting 30 blankets from Linda Gebhardt, Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin and the Monroe Kiwanis, and Kristine O'Connor, Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin. Andy Hill (not available for photo) provided a Thrivent Action Team for this project. Chief Conway will distribute the blankets to people in need during crisis situations.

Monticello Village Board Unanimously Approves November Referendum Question

The Monticello Village Board met at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in the Village Hall Boardroom. All trustees were in attendance.
During the Finance Committee report, the board approved the August payroll and invoices as well as Operator Licenses for Brienne Graber and Ryan Indergand.
Village President Tere Dunlap told the board that she would like to have the Committee budgets ready in September.

If you live in a flooded area of Dane County and own a private well, your water may be in danger of contamination from pollutants carried in floodwaters. Public Health Madison & Dane County (PHMDC), in partnership with the Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene, is offering free and expanded private well water testing services for impacted Dane County residents.

DOLORES A. STOFFEL

Dolores A. Stoffel, age 79 of Belleville, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at her home. She was born on September 17, 1938, in Waukegan, IL, to her parents, Francis and Frances (Van Dyke) Stoffel.
Dolores graduated from Waukegan Township High School, and then worked for the Department of Defense at Great Lakes Naval Station and Fort Sheridan for many years. Dolores had resided in Belleville for the last 19 years.

Patricia Ann Stein, age 82 of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1936, in the Town of Verona to her parents, Jacob C and Kathryn Ann (Krugjohann) Hefty.

Jessie J. (Mueller) Downer, age 53 of Lodi, passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on January 17, 1965 in Monroe, the daughter of Alfred and Donna (Dickinson) Mueller.
