The 2nd annual Wildcat Alumni Reunion was held at the Belleville vs Orfordville-Parkview game Friday night, August 24th, at the Sports Complex. Former Wildcat football head coaches John Becker and Steve Vogler, along with numerous former assistant coaches and alumni from the 1950s through 2017, gathered to honor the 1980 and 1982 State Line League Championship teams.
During halftime these teams were recognized as well as LeRoy Freitag, longtime assistant football coach under Belleville head coaches John Becker and Darrel Dillman, for his induction into the Wildcat Wall of Fame.

Friday, August 17, was a rain-filled day which gave way to a beautiful evening for football as the NGM Knights traveled to Dodgeville to open the 2018 season. First games are always full of questions as the teams know little about each other. Mistakes are to be expected in first games as well. None of this seemed to bother the Knights as they left Dodgeville with a very solid, almost mistake free, 43-0 victory.

Euchre players, it’s time to clear your calendar and dust off the cards as we shuffle into the 88th Sugar River Euchre League season. A captains’ meeting will be held at 8:00 p.m., on September 20th, at the Riley Tavern in Riley, the new home of last year’s champions – the 5th Quarter Shufflers. Regular season play will begin on Thursday, October 4th.

The Monroe/New Glarus Co-op Swim Team won their first meet of the season against Platteville/Lancaster. JV won 93-7, and the Varsity scored a victory, 121-49.
