Deadline for Submitting Names for the Green County Veterans Park Wall of Honor

The Green County Veterans Memorial Park is setting a deadline of September 1, 2018, for submitting names to the committee if you have not already done so. Names are placed on the “Wall of Honor” building located at the Pleasant View Park in Monroe.

And the Rain Came Down...

Record rainfall was recorded around the area on Monday, August 20, 2018. Local reports varied widely from around 4 to 7.5 inches in and around New Glarus. There were even reports of 14.5 inches of rain near Verona.
The massive rains brought flooding, with streams and rivers overflowing their banks. Streets, parks and even the New Glarus Area EMS building were flooded.

Monticello Story Time Kids Release Monarch Butterflies

We were super lucky to have some special visitors at a recent Story Time! Heidi Vetterli, of New Glarus, brought in some Monarch caterpillars and some butterflies that had just hatched. The Story Time kids got to help release them into the Library's garden.

Aggressive IRS Scammers Targeting Wisconsinites

The State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Consumer Protection Hotline is seeing an influx of reports from Wisconsin residents about fake IRS scam calls. The scammers are threatening arrest within 24 hours (sometimes within 30 minutes) if the call recipient does not make an immediate payment for phony taxes.
