Monticello Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Monticello Foundation, Inc. recently awarded 18 scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to the following Monticello High School graduates: Alex Henning, Emma Fenner, Ashley Risley, Kallista Baebler, Brittany Disch, Jordan Garrison, Emily Koch, Mackenzie Zanow, Courtney Leuzinger, Alyssah Kubly, Madalyn Holtz, Christian Wahl, Samantha DeVoe, Lauren Schilder, Emilie Gietzel, Megan Lehr, Kathleen Gierhart and Jessie Garrison. Since 1995, The Monticello Foundation has awarded $381,750 in scholarships to Monticello High School graduates.

Ribbon Cutting at Twisted Tree Eatery

The Monticello Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed Cherri Bell and her amazing staff to Monticello's Main Street with a Ribbon Cutting on November 8, 2018. Cherri and her husband, Bill Bell, came to Monticello a little over ten years ago. After what began with a roadside stand on STH 69, progressing to the Paoli Bread and Brat House, has now become the beautiful Twisted Tree Eatery on Monticello's historic Main Street. Sadly Bill passed away, but Cherri continues to build on their dreams. Following the Ribbon Cutting, visitors were treated to a number of tasty appetizers.

Santa to Visit Monticello On December 8, 2018

Santa Claus is coming to town! Santa will make his annual pre-Christmas visit to Monticello on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Monticello Fire Station. While Santa greets the children there and hears their wishes for Christmas, his elves are working hard to set up a special shop for the children to buy gifts for their family members. Santa’s Workshop increases in popularity each year, and this year looks to be every bit as exciting and well-attended, but it can’t happen without your help.

Pre-Christmas Bake Sale

Do your Christmas baking the easy way and attend the Pre-Christmas Bake Sale on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello. The sale will be held in the North Room. Many delicious goodies will be for sale, including holiday cookies, bratzeli, breads, angel food cakes and pear bread. Items are sold by the pound, and containers will be provided. Free coffee while you shop!
The Pre-Christmas Bake Sale is sponsored by the Zwingli Women’s Guild.

All businesses in Monticello are invited to take part in the Holiday Decoration Contest, sponsored by the Monticello Chamber of Commerce. You are encouraged to decorate your business inside and out as this is a great way to draw attention to local businesses and spread holiday cheer.

Belleville High School Receives Madison Jazz Society 2018-19 Grant

In November, the Madison Jazz Society awarded grants totaling $7,650 from its School Grant Fund to music programs in sixteen Wisconsin schools. The grants are funding jazz centered programs designed to help students learn about and perform jazz.

Belleville Ramps Up Their Economic Development Efforts, On Track To Be an Up-and-Coming Community

In 2017, the Village of Belleville and its partners conducted a market analysis to better understand how to drive economic development in the community. Results of the analysis have included increased interorganizational communications via the formation of a supercommittee, the development of a new branding strategy, and, most recently, the creation of a new administrative position dedicated to economic development and marketing.

PTO to Sponsor Holiday Fun on November 30th!

<strong>Santa Claus is Coming to Town!</strong>
The Belleville Community Club, with the Belleville Parent-Teacher Organization, will hold its annual Santa Visit, Holiday Gift Shop, and Book Fair on Friday, November 30th. The event will take place in the C.H. Hageman Gym at the Belleville Elementary School. The Holiday Gift Shop and Book Fair will open at 5:00 p.m., and end at 7:30 p.m. Santa will visit from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., and hand out treats to the children, thanks to the Belleville Community Club.
