On Wednesday, November 14, 2018, New Glarus Area EMS was given 25 blankets from Blankets for Kids Wisconsin. The group has donated over 800 blankets since its inception in 2016. For more information about Blankets for Kids Wisconsin, check them out on Facebook.
The New Glarus Fire District was awarded a grant of $2,800.00 to purchase fire fighting nozzles from the Compeer Financial Emergency Response Equipment Grant Program. The grant provided the NGFD the ability to replace obsolete and worn out nozzles with new equipment that allows for more efficient fire-fighting operations.
Dan Ziegler, New Glarus, Wisconsin, recently received the Honorary American FFA Degree.
This award is given to those who advance agricultural education and FFA through outstanding personal commitment. The National FFA Organization works to enhance the lives of youth through agricultural education. Without the efforts of highly dedicated individuals, thousands of young people would not be able to achieve the success that, in turn, contributes directly to the overall well-being of the nation.
On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, the Stuessy-Kuenzi American Legion Post #141 held their annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Before the dinner, representatives from the Sugar River Quilts of Valor Foundation held a ceremony presenting quilts to five local veterans.

The Southern Wisconsin Land Conservancy and local conservation partners welcome the community to a harvest celebration and fundraiser Saturday, November 17, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the new Three Waters Reserve (formerly the front nine of the Decatur Lake Golf Course), located at 3941 Golf Course Road, Brodhead, WI.

The Swiss Church will hold it’s annual Cookie Sale on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall. There is always a delicious variety of candies, cookies, breads and bratzeli available for purchase. Items will be sold by the pound.
