Girl Scouts Update

New Glarus Brownie and Junior Girl Scout Troops and a Belleville Junior Girl Scout Troop joined together for a Holiday Activity last Sunday. They decorated cookies, made crafts and played some games. They also collected Cake Mixes, Frosting and more to make into Birthday Bags, that were later donated to the Green Cares Food Pantry in Monticello.
The Girl Scouts also joined a Belleville Cub Scout Pack in making cards for Heartsong Assisted Living, Hometown Assisted Living and Meals on Wheels patrons.

Petition Period Opens for 2020 Ag Enterprise Areas

Communities interested in being designated as agricultural enterprise areas in 2020 can submit petitions until June 21, 2019, to the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
Agricultural enterprise areas, or AEAs, are blocks of land that are used primarily for farming and for businesses that serve the farming sector. They are created when at least five landowners and their local governments petition for an AEA designation and the department approves the petition.

Badger Players Visit Knight Fans

UW - Madison Mens Basketball Team members Aleem Ford and D'Mitrik Trice were at the New Glarus Knights Basketball game on December 20, 2018. During halftime and after the game the two men graciously signed autographs, answered questioned and posed for photos.

^Winter Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over^" Traffic Campaign"

The New Glarus and Belleville Police Departments will be out with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the nation for the “Winter Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunken drivers from December 14 through New Year’s Day.
Drunken driving is entirely preventable. If we can deter people from getting behind the wheel when they’re not sober, we will make progress toward the goal of reaching zero preventable traffic deaths in Wisconsin.

New Glarus Area EMS Seeking Community Advisory Board Members

Want to get involved in your community? The New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is seeking interested parties to sit on the EMS Executive Board as Community Advisory Board members.
Applicants must reside within the area that the EMS services. Those municipalities are the Village of New Glarus and Town of New Glarus and portions of the Town of Primrose, Town of York, Town of Mount Pleasant, Town of Perry and Town of Exeter.

New Glarus Holiday Blood Drive

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Friday, December 28th, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Bible Church, 207 6th Street, New Glarus.

Marine Credit Union Supports Shop With a Cop in New Glarus

Marine Credit Union's team members in New Glarus donated toys to the Shop with a Cop program. The toys will be shared with local underprivileged children this holiday season and were collected through donations from Marine's members and the Marine Credit Union Foundation.

Monticello FBLA Says Thank You for Giving Tree Donations

Again this year, the Monticello FBLA put up a Giving Tree in the high school hallway, asking people to take an ornament and return a donation for the Green Cares Food Pantry. We collected a large amount of personal care items, as well as food and cash. A big thank you to everyone that contributed.

Register for the Monticello PTO's Fourth Annual Euchre Tournament

The Monticello PTO is holding their 4th Annual Euchre Tournament on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at T&D’s Bar Grill in Monticello. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the tournament starting at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a silent auction of many great items that have been generously donated from area businesses. All the funds raised will go directly back to the students, teachers and the school for trips, scholarships and teacher classroom grants to name a few. The cost is $25.00 per pair, or $13.00 for single entry.
