140 Years of Library Service to Belleville

Thank you to all who joined us for the 140th anniversary celebration of Belleville's library on Sunday, December 2nd. Party-goers enjoyed music by blue grass band Squirrel Gravy, hearing library history from Rosemary Ziehli and Bob Hoffman, making holiday crafts, reading stories about the library, and yummy treats provided by the Friends of the Belleville Public Library. Shown is Jerry Remy talking with Darlene Duklas, whose great-great-grandparents Henry and Mary Story founded Belleville's first library in 1878.

Road Rally 2018

Barb and I started planning in August. We took a few trips around the north addition, not really pinning anything down, but kind of setting the route. Later on, we really concentrated on people’s yards, etc., for the rally goers to find. It is amazing that we can spot unusual, and sometimes unbelievably different sorts of things that people have in their yards. This is NOT a complaint! We love it and it’s great that people are so creative!! After the initial couple of trips, we got in the car and headed to the Blanchardville area. I think we got lost three times.

A Christmas Present

Dear Editor,
Governor Walker should use his ex-privilege to restore the rights lost under Governor Doyle (Democrat) such as took away power from local control (county and township) and bonding and etc., all the things that were put in place that would then bring in line with the Constitution of the U.S.
Our flag is the most beautiful in the whole world as it flies in the wind and the blue stand the godliness and in (God we trust) the white stand for (pure) freedom, the red stands for the blood that was lost to keep the flag still flying.

^Winter Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over^" Traffic Campaign"

The New Glarus and Belleville Police Departments will be out with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin and the rest of the nation for the “Winter Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunken drivers from December 14 through New Year’s Day.
Drunken driving is entirely preventable. If we can deter people from getting behind the wheel when they’re not sober, we will make progress toward the goal of reaching zero preventable traffic deaths in Wisconsin.
