The Monticello Ponies girls basketball team began the first round of the WIAA regional tournament by facing #10 Johnson Creek at home on February 19th. The Ponies were seeded #7.
The first half was a close one and Monticello was up by just 5 points at halftime. In the second half, Monticello held Johnson Creek to just 13 points and won the game. The final score was Monticello 63, Johnson Creek 35.
Alyssen Noriega scored 21 points for the Ponies, while Lindsey Pence and Harley Disch scored 10 points each.

On February 18th, the Belleville Wildcats boys basketball team played at Marshall. The Wildcats lost, the final score was Marshall 81, Belleville 59. No further details were made available by press time.
On February 21st, the team played at Cambridge. By halftime, the score was Belleville 24, Cambridge 30. However, Cambridge scored 44 points in the second half to Belleville’s 16 and the Wildcats lost the game, 40-74.
Sawyer Fahey scored 11 points, while Jared Schulting scored 9 points and Austin Fahey scored 7 points.

The Monticello Ponies boys basketball team played the last game of the regular season at home against Argyle.
The game was close throughout the first half, the lead was traded back and forth several times. Finally, with 2:20 left in the half, Monticello pulled ahead on a basket by Peter Gustafson. The halftime score was Monticello 29, Argyle 26.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville celebrated its 201st commencement ceremonies December 15, 2018, in Williams Fieldhouse.
