Nine students from the New Glarus Middle School participated in the school-level competition of the National Geographic GeoBee on January 24, 2019. Roman Kendrick, an eighth grade student, won first place for the second year in a row. Emma Mondloch and Michelangelo O'Brien, both sixth grade students, took second and third places.

The Wisconsin Cover Crop Conference will be held in Stevens Point at the Holiday Inn on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. The day starts off at 9:30 a.m., with keynote speaker Blake Vince, who is a farmer from southwestern Ontario that has done long term no-till and cover crops. Attendees to the conference will choose from three sets of breakout sessions. The first set includes breaking the tillage cycle, managing manure with cover crops and cover crop species selection and planting in Wisconsin.

The Belleville Area Cultural Foundation is pleased to host a FREE family event on Sunday, March 3rd.
The Nationally acclaimed Stoughton Norwegian Dancers will present their authentic folk performance at 2:00 p.m., in the Belleville High School gym.
This talented group of high school students, dressed in regional Norwegian bunads (costumes), will present a variety of dance routines to music provided by three student keyboardists.

Smith (right), both of Belleville, received their Quilts of Valor at the Belleville Senior Center on Saturday, February 2nd, during the National Sew Day sponsored by the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The quilts were made by the Sugar River Chapter of the Quilts of Valor.
