Green County HCE Offering Scholarships for Local Students

The members of the Green County Home and Community Education, Inc. (HCE) organization will be awarding two scholarships, in the amount of $300.00 each, available to a graduating senior of a Green County High School, a relative of a Green County HCE member or a member of a Green County 4-H Club, FFA or FLCA chapter. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage individuals to take advantage of continuing education opportunities. Applicants may attend a four-year public or private college or a Technical College either within the state of Wisconsin or outside of the state.

The team from New Glarus participated in the Polar Plunge on February 16th in Madison at Olin Park. They raised a total of $1,080 for Special Olympics.

New Glarus Community Blood Drive to be Held at New Glarus Brewery

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at New Glarus Brewing Company, 2400 State Highway 69, New Glarus.

New Glarus Fire Department's Annual Kalberwurst and Swiss Steak Dinner

Join your friends and neighbors at the New Glarus Fire Station, 218 4th Avenue, New Glarus, for the department’s annual Kalberwurst and Swiss Steak Dinner on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Serving begins at 5:30 p.m., and will be first come, first serve – but come early to mingle and enjoy a cocktail or two. Carry-outs are available any time.
The menu includes Kalberwurst, Swiss Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Fresh Bread, Homemade Baked Goods, Coffee, Milk and Water. Beer is available to purchase with valid ID for guests 21 years of age and older.

New Glarus Participates in 2019 FCCLA Regional Competition

On Friday, February 15th, New Glarus Middle and High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members headed to Oregon High School to compete in the FCCLA Regional Competition. These members competed in events, also known as STAR (Students Taking Action for Recognition) Events, which have helped to increase student leadership, community involvement, and community service.
