Euchre Card Party

The Sugar River Senior Center, located at 21 S. Vine Street in Belleville, will be hosting two Euchre Card Parties on Saturday, February 23, 2019, and Saturday, March 30, 2019.
The cost to play is $6.00 per person, which includes card playing with prizes and lunch afterwards. Everyone is welcome.

Winter Bingo

Duppler-Smith American Legion Post #460 Belleville will be holding Winter Bingo on Sunday, February 24th, and Sunday, March 31st.
Doors open at Noon, Bingo starts at 1:00 p.m. Cash Prizes determined by number of players. Food and refreshments served.

Belleville Middle School Students of the Month

On Friday, February 1, Belleville Middle School core staff, along with Music teachers, recognized Students of the Month for January. After lunch in the auditorium, students received a certificate and an explanation of their nomination from their teachers. They also received a Catty Shack buck from the school store and a 3-D printed trinket from Mrs. Swenson. Although the location of the ceremony moved, students still had the opportunity to put their handprints up on the walls in the Middle School Commons for a lasting memory.

Belleville High School Students of the Month

On Friday, February 15, Belleville High School teachers recognized Students of the Month for January. Students received personalized certificates from their nominating teachers, along with movie passes donated by Marcus Theaters. They were also treated to a Tano's Pizza lunch. For many of these students, teachers commented on their constant desire for improvement. As always, Mr. Perry and Mrs. Schmitz surveyed the group about ways to improve the school.

Green County Master Gardeners Present Parrfection Produce Speaker

The Green County Master Gardeners will be holding their monthly meeting on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th Street, Monroe, in the Multi-Purpose Rooms. Meetings usually include speakers or tours for learning and are open to the public to attend.

Monroe Clinic Hospice Support Group

The journey through grief is difficult. Many people find it comforting to face grief with others experiencing similar challenges. To help through the journey, Monroe Clinic Hospice is holding a Hope Eternal After Loss (HEAL) grief education and support group, which provides resources and encouragement for people grieving the death of a loved one. The six-week HEAL group meets Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m., February 27 – April 3, at the St. Camillus Center, 2101 6th Street, Monroe, WI.

LARRY L. KLITZKE

Larry L. Klitzke, 64 of New Glarus, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was born in Monroe on December 17, 1954, the son of August and Mary Lou (Geiger) Klitzke.
He was united in marriage to Linda J. Anderson on July 28, 1984, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in New Glarus. With the help of family and friends, Larry designed and built his forever home where they raised their two children, Derek and Danielle.

UW-Platteville Announces Dean’s List
The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announces its Dean’s List, honoring those full-time students who earned high honors in their respective colleges in the fall 2018 semester. The College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require grade-point averages of 3.75 and above for Dean’s List honors, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50.

TDS Employees Present Donation to Belleville School

Telephone & Data Systems (TDS) employees have the opportunity to donate $200 each year to a cause. For the second time in recent years, Belleville residents and parents who are TDS employees pooled their donations and donated a check for $2,400 to Belleville Middle and High Schools at the February 11th school board meeting.

New Glarus Knights Three-Peat as Conference Champs

On February 11th, New Glarus hosted Belleville. After a 4-point lead by Belleville at the half, New Glarus spent the second half dominating the boards, outscoring Belleville by 18 points, New Glarus won the game. The final score was New Glarus 52, Belleville 38.
Leading the Knights with 21 points was Jaden Kreklow, while Zach Feller scored 13 points and Connor Siegenthaler scored 12 points.
Jared Schulting scored 7 points to lead Belleville, while Jaydon Winkers, Austin Fahey and Sawyer Fahey all scored 6 points.
