Ponies Win Over Lady Knights

The Monticello Ponies softball team hosted Belmont on May 2nd, losing 1-17.
Alexa Siegenthaler, Jacy Rufer, Bre McCoy, Cierra Kruger and Sarah Brokopp all went 1x2 at bat.
Claire Klossner pitched for .2 inning, giving up 11 runs, while Harley Disch pitched for 4.1 innings, giving up 6 runs and striking out 1.
On May 3rd, the Ponies hosted the New Glarus Knights. The final score was Monticello 6, New Glarus 4.

Sugar River Track Competes at Deerfield Classic

The Sugar River track team competed at the Deerfield Classic on May 3rd. The men's team finished in 11th place while the women's team finished in 2nd place.

Ponies Relay Teams Break More Records

The Monticello track team competed at the Warrior Outdoor event at Black Hawk High School on May 2nd. The men placed 6th in the meet and the women placed 4th.

Remember Me Red Run Fundraiser Raises Alzheimer's Awareness

Register today for the first annual Remember Me Red Run! The 5K run will start at Bailey’s Run Vineyard, N8523 Klitzke Road in New Glarus, at 10:00 a.m. on May 11.
This is an event for a cause close to the heart of local winemakers Janet and Todd Kuehl, who opened Bailey’s Run Vineyard in May 2018, and named it after their beloved dog, Bailey. The winery, built high on a ridge on the outskirts of New Glarus, provides a fantastic venue for enjoying wine and views of the Wisconsin countryside.

SkillsUSA Engineering Team Earns First Place

Students from the New Glarus High School SkillsUSA Team, and advisor Mr. Mihm, attended the SkillsUSA – State Leadership and Skills Conference on April 30th and May 1st, at the Alliant Energy Exhibition Hall in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Engineering Team placed first in a field of 120 teams in a state level competition held during the conference. We congratulate them on their outstanding efforts!

2019 New Glarus Farmers Market

The New Glarus Farmers Market plans to open on Friday, May 10th. The location stays the same as last year, in the parking lot of the New Glarus Hometown Pharmacy at 1101 State Highway 69 and the market has new hours for the 2019 season, from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
The New Glarus Farmers Market is a vendor operated group whose purpose is to contribute to the success of their local agriculture and small scale farmers, as well as specialty product entrepreneurs. The market strengthens the local economy, connects people to local agriculture and serves as a community gathering place.

New Glarus Bike Rodeo

For eight years, the New Glarus Police Department and New Glarus Chamber have hosted a bike rodeo in early May. A rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for young bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.

Spring Fling - May 18, 2019

The Monticello Lions Club is holding Spring Fling this year on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

Ford Drive 4 UR School

Beginning at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 18, 2019, Monticello Ford and Ford Motor Company is hosting Drive 4 UR School in the Voegeli Chevrolet parking lot.
Anyone age 18 and over with a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance is invited to come and test-drive a new Ford vehicle. Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per person to the Monticello FCCLA (at no cost to you!), up to $6,000. A little drive could go a long way.

Annual Ag Plant Sale

Belleville High School is hosting a plant sale in the greenhouse on Thursday, May 9th, from 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.; Friday, May 10th, from 3:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.; and on Saturday, May 11th, from 8:00 a.m.-Noon.
All proceeds go towards funding future classes to help students continue this learning experience for years to come.
Flowers will be $3.00 and include Sweet Potato Vine-Black and Green, Juncus Twister, Maverick Star and Salmon Splash Geraniums, Purple Spikes, Grape Splash, Cherry Lace and Peach Cobbler Calibrachoa, Tropical Rose and Orchid Sunpatients and Marigolds.
