Belleville Wins Shut Out Against New Glarus

The Belleville Lady Wildcats hosted the New Glarus Lady Knights on May 14th, winning 9-0.
With one out left in the 3rd inning, Ella Campbell had a base hit up the middle and then moved herself to 2nd on the relay in. Jillian Michaels then hit a double to score Campbell, and Jenna Shrader hit one up the middle to score Michaels. Bailey Legler then hit an RBI ground out to score Shrader.
The Lady Wildcats added 4 more runs in the 4th inning and another in the 6th to win the game.

Minder Family To Host Breakfast on the Farm May 25th

The 2019 Green County Breakfast on the Farm will take place Saturday, May 25th, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the Minder Family Farm, located at N2428 Allen Road, west of Browntown, off Highway 11. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $7 for adults, $4 for children 5-10 years of age and children 4 years and under are free.

Water Quality Task Force Hearing

Pelicans Spotted Near Monticello

Pelicans were spotted just off of River Road, east of Monticello, last week. Most of the flock of around a dozen Pelicans took off immediately, these two stayed around for a few minutes for a photo.

Monticello Police Present Award for Outstanding Service to Monticello Firefighter

Squad 4 Truck Captain Nate Willson of the Monticello Fire Department was awarded a commendation from Monticello Police Chief Conway for outstanding service to the citizens of the Village of Monticello. Nate went above and beyond the call of duty by getting permission for custody from a family during an emergency call to relieve emotional stress of the children, taking care of the children, and getting the children to school the next day!

FCCLA Sponsoring New Glarus Community Blood Drive

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus High School, 1701 2nd Street, sponsored by New Glarus Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).

Free Fishing Adventure

Looking for something fun to do with your children? The New Glarus FFA Alumni and Wisconsin DNR will be holding its second annual <strong>F</strong>ree <strong>F</strong>ishing <strong>A</strong>dventure on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 9:00 a.m.- Noon, at Hoesly Pond at the intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy W.
Children of all ages can participate in Fishing with a Parent. Bring your own gear, or some gear will be available to use and bait will be provided.
Lunch will be provided by the New Glarus FFA Alumni.

New Glarus Lions Club Chicken Barbecue

The New Glarus Lions Club will hold their annual Chicken Barbecue at the Village Park on Friday, May 24, 2019, serving from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit local scholarships and other community projects. Enjoy music by Larry Daehn while you eat.
Adult tickets (over age 12) are $10.00, children 6-12 eat for $5.00 and ages 5 and under eat for free. On the menu is delicious Barbecued Chicken, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Roll with Butter and Milk.

Langhammer Wins International Award at Collegiate DECA Conference

Treise Langhammer, Brooklyn, a member of the UW-Whitewater Collegiate DECA chapter, contributed to an exceptional team performance at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, April 13-16.
Langhammer and her partner won second place in the Entrepreneurship - Starting a Business competition. She also received an Academic Honor award by holding a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, and earned a blue level Passport Leadership award for engagement and leadership throughout the year.

Cops N' Bobbers

The Belleville Police Department and Wisconsin DNR invite you to join them for their Cops N’ Bobbers event on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Belleville Community Park, Shelter 1, 10 Bross Circle.
Children ages pre-K4 grade through 8th grade can participate in Fishing with a Buddy, and children 4th grade and younger can participate in the Fish Pond. Prizes will be awarded for Biggest Fish and Smallest Fish.
Lunch will be provided by UW Health Belleville Family Medicine.
