Monroe Clinic FastCare is Moving to a New Temporary Location

Monday, May 20th was Monroe Clinic FastCare’s last day at the Monroe Shopko. FastCare reopened on Wednesday, May 22nd, at their temporary location in the Monroe Clinic hospital lobby.
Use the hospital main entrance and follow the signs to FastCare’s temporary location.
FastCare’s hours and services will remain the same.

National Emergency Medical Services Week

The 45th Annual National EMS week is being observed on May 19-25, 2019. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities.
EMS Week brings together local communities and the medical personnel who serve them to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services. EMS Week is the perfect time to recognize EMS and all that its practitioners do for our nation.

Kids Have Fun, Win Bikes at New Glarus Bike Rodeo

On Saturday, May 11, the New Glarus Police Department and the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce hosted a bike rodeo at the Depot. A bike rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for young bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes. Approximately 80 kids attended and learned about bike safety, and were also able to have their bikes checked for safety.

Belleville Post Prom a Success

More than 190 Belleville students and their guests enjoyed post prom at Sugar River Lanes after prom on May 4th. This safe and fun-filled event ran from Midnight to 4:00 a.m., and the kids had a chance to bowl, Sumo wrestle, take a chance in the money machine filled with almost $1,000, shoot pool, throw bags, play foosball and more. Door prizes were given out throughout the event worth more than $2,500, in addition to the eight grand prize giveaways that were done at the end of the night for prizes like TVs, a kayak and a $200 gift card, which is always the highlight of the event.

Annual Green County Master Gardener's Plant Sale

The Green County Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association will be conducting their annual plant sale from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 18. The plant sale is an opportunity for area residents to purchase hardy zone 4 perennials, herbs and annual plants that have been grown locally by Extension Master Gardener volunteers. Started vegetable plants, houseplants and unique plants will all be available, as well as several handcrafted garden use items.

The Sugar River track team competed at the Capitol Quad in Columbus on May 7th, where the women wrapped up the Southern Capitol Conference Dual Championship and the men finished in 2nd place.

Sugar River Clean Up

The Lake Winnetka Sugar River Improvement Association Inc. will hold its annual Sugar River cleanup in Albany, on Saturday, May 18th, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will meet at the Albany American Legion Hall at 300 N. Water Street, across from the Boat Ramp near the Police/Fire station. Our goal is to remove as much garbage as possible from the river and its banks. The type of work varies from walking the banks or riding in canoes and picking up trash to cutting tree branches and handing them to people on shore.
