<strong>Minnesota State University, Mankato Awards Degrees </strong>
Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 2,304 degrees at the end of the spring 2019 semester, with approximately 1,700 students participating in three graduation ceremonies on campus Saturday, May 11, 2019, in Taylor Center’s Bresnan Arena. <strong> Steven Zimmerman</strong>, Belleville, earned a BS in Automotive Engineering Technology.

Cops N' Bobbers

The Belleville Police Department and Wisconsin DNR invite you to join them for their Cops N’ Bobbers event on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Belleville Community Park, Shelter 1, 10 Bross Circle.
Children ages pre-K4 grade through 8th grade can participate in Fishing with a Buddy, and children 4th grade and younger can participate in the Fish Pond. Prizes will be awarded for Biggest Fish and Smallest Fish.
Lunch will be provided by UW Health Belleville Family Medicine.

Belleville Area EMS to Hold Open House

The Belleville Area Emergency Medical Services will host an Open House from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the EMS building at 480 River Street.
Staff with the Belleville Area EMS are planning a carnival theme with cotton candy, popcorn, and other food. There will be games, a bouncy house, cot races, balloons, and more.
EMTs will demonstrate tourniquet application and former EMTs will demonstrate moulage, which is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training emergency response teams and other medical and military personnel.

Belleville Fire Department to Hold 23rd Annual Fish Boil

The Belleville Fire Department is holding their twenty-third annual fish boil on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Belleville Fire Station, 33 E. Main Street.
Serving times are at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available from Sugar River Bank, UB&T-Belleville and Monona Bank, any Belleville firefighter or you may contact Chief Brian Hollis at (608) 225-9816 or Captain Joe Gastel at (608) 235-9865. The ticket cost is $14.00 per adult, $8.00 for children ages 6-12, and children 5 and under eat free.

Sugar River Youth Wrestlers Compete at WWF Freestyle State Championships

Last weekend on May 4th, five Sugar River wrestlers competed at the WWF Freestyle State Championships at the Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells.
Freestyle wrestling is an International Olympic style with a quicker pace and higher scoring than traditional Folkstyle wrestling that takes place in the winter. All wrestlers that participated did a WONDERFUL job!! Just participating in this tournament is a great achievement. Over 1,200 wrestlers competed in the Saturday and Sunday tournament.

Monticello Schools Community Day of Service 2019

Monticello Schools' annual Community Day of Service was held on April 26th. Students in grades 4K-12 participated in a variety of service projects. Some of these activities including roadside and bike trail trash pick-up, assisting the Monticello Lions Club in cleaning the park shelter, painting village hall, cleaning at the Monticello Public Library, yard work at the Montesian Gardens, outside work at the Green County Humane Society, clean up at Marshall Bluff Bow Hunters, and helping the DNR to restock fish in local streams.

Natalie Roe, 2019 Wisconsin Brown Swiss Queen

Hello! My name is Natalie Roe, and I am honored to be the 2019 Wisconsin Brown Swiss Queen. I am the daughter of Dan and Sally Roe, and I have two younger brothers, Nick and Alex. I currently attend Monticello High School, where I am very involved at school, participating in many extracurricular activities which include FBLA, Spanish and Investment Clubs, Volleyball, and Track &amp; Field. I have been an active member of the Washington Center 4-H Club for eight years, including serving as the current President.

Minder Family To Host Green County Breakfast on the Farm May 25th

The 2019 Green County Breakfast on the Farm will take place Saturday, May 25th, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the Minder Family Farm, located at N2428 Allen Road, west of Browntown, off Highway 11. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $7 for adults, $4 for children 5-10 years of age and children 4 years and under are free.
