Belleville Veterans Memorial Park

We are taking applications at this time for any honorable discharged Veterans, or men and women now serving in the military for our Veterans Memorial wall of names.
The minimum donation is $125 per name to have someone come out and engrave names on the stone, and when we have a list of names compiled we will order the work.

Tribute to Veterans Celebrating 100-Year Birthdays

JoAnne Krueger from the Belleville Senior Center has under taken a project to write stories of local Veterans’ experiences, to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Legion this year, and also 100-year anniversary charter of Duppler-Smith Post 460, which happens next year.

Bastille Day Lakefest to be held on July 13, 2019 from 1:30 to 10:00 p.m.

Bastille Day Lakefest is a unique festival celebrating Lake Belle View, nature and wildlife, health and wellness, Belleville's French Heritage, family and community connections. It will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, from 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m., with most events taking place in Belleville's Community Park.

SBA Deadline for Wisconsin Small Businesses to Apply for Working Capital Loans is July 18

The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding businesses in Wisconsin that working capital loans are still available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and private nonprofit organizations affected by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, flooding and landslides from August 17 through September 14, 2018.

Luhman Honored Posthumously

Gary Luhman, resident of Green County and District Attorney, was posthumously awarded the Bovay Award from the 2nd Congressional District on May 18, 2019, at the Republican Party of Wisconsin state convention in Oshkosh.
His wife Beth and son Ethan accepted the award from Kim Babler, 2nd Congressional District chairman. Gary was a long-time chairman of the Republican Party of Green County.
The Bovay Award is presented annually in each Congressional District to one person in recognition of outstanding dedication and sacrifice over the years to the Republican Party.

Wags 'n Wheels Poker Run to Benefit Green County Humane Society

Two wheels or four, all are welcome to join the Wags ’n Wheels Poker Run on Saturday, July 6, 2019, to benefit the Green County Humane Society.
Vehicles will depart at 11:00 a.m., from the Junction House north of Monroe, to travel the scenic countryside through Green, Lafayette, Iowa and Dane counties, making five stops along the way to collect playing cards in a quest to create a winning poker hand. Each stop will also include raffles, prizes and other fun.

Single Oak Farm Country Garden Stroll

The Single Oak Farm Country Garden Stroll will be Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Come and enjoy an afternoon at a country garden with bars and cookies and beverages as you wander about. Homemade pies will be auctioned off and silent auction items are available for you to bid on. If you’d like to donate a pie and/or silent auction items, it would be greatly appreciated.
All proceeds will be divided between “Nebraska Disaster Relief for Farmers,” and the local food pantries in Monticello, Belleville, Mount Horeb and Blue Mounds.

Schwartzlow Reunion

The Schwartzlow Reunion will be held Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Putnam Park, 6th Street and W. 3rd Avenue, in Brodhead, from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Will eat around Noon.
Bring a dish to pass. Table service, broasted chicken, ham and bottled water will be provided. Spread the word to other members of your family.
