Gentilli Selected for Masonic All-Star Game

Jack Gentilli, Belleville, has been selected to play on the Gold Team at the 2019 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) Masonic All-Star Game. This year's games will be hosted by UW-La Crosse. The Gold Team will be coached by Brett Ogorzalek (McFarland High School) and Matt Drago (New Berlin West High School).

DeLorme Selected as Honorable Mention on All-State Team

Connor DeLorme, Belleville, has been selected as an Honorable Mention on the 2018-2019 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association (WSCA) Stefans Soccer Boys Academic All-State Team.
Student athletes honored must have a 3.85 or higher cumulative GPA, four years of high school soccer experience and at least two years varsity experience, must achieve at least a 29 composite score on any single ACT test and a certification from their coach and athletic director that the player has exhibited exemplary sportsmanship. Class rank, if available also will be considered in the selection process.

Spring Fling Organizers Announce Winners and Thank Supporters For a Great Event

Monticello Spring Fling was held on May 18th, and the Spring Fling Committee would like to thank the members of the Monticello Chamber of Commerce, the Monticello Community Club, Monticello Lions and Lioness Clubs and their families, Monticello PTO members, the Monticello High School Music Department, the Monticello Booster Club for having the kickball tournament and the community of Monticello for making this year's event so successful.

Memories of MATC Downtown Campus

As I read the page one article in this morning’s<i> Wisconsin State Journal</i>, “After 98 years, it’s farewell,” pertaining to the closing of the downtown MATC campus, I was reminded of a line from the Joan Baez song Diamonds and Rust, “yes we both know what memories can bring, they bring diamonds and rust.” And how true that line in the song has played out over half a century.

State Bank of Cross Plains Grows to 15 Locations in Three Counties

With the merger closing scheduled for May 31st, State Bank of Cross Plains (SBCP) and Union Bank & Trust Company (UB&T) officially begin operating as one organization on June 1. The merged financial institutions will expand SBCP’s presence from 10 locations in Dane County to a combined 15 locations operating in Dane, Rock and Green counties, with total assets topping $1.25 billion.

Memorial Day 2019 at Green's Prairie Cemetery

By 1:30 p.m. on Memorial Day, it had already been raining for several hours and it looked like the rain might start up again at any minute. So this year's ceremony was moved to the York Town Hall. About 15 hardy individuals congregated to honor our departed veterans.
