On Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., participating downtown businesses will be open to trick or treaters! Costumed children 12 and under are invited to downtown New Glarus for spooktacular Halloween trick or treating at any of the local merchants with orange and black balloons outside their doors. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Trick or treat maps and bags are available at the Chamber depot on the 26th from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at 418 Railroad Street. Adventsfensters, the life-size Advent calendar, are returning to New Glarus this holiday season. Common in the smaller towns and villages of Switzerland, New Glarus resident Jackie Judd brought them to life here last year.
“When I was a child we went to Lucerne to see the windows with my dad, and we also participated more than one year in the fun to “host” a window with my mom,” remembers Judd, who is originally from Switzerland. “In school we used to do all the school windows. I have many great memories of painting and crafting with family and school friends.”

The New Glarus Class of 1969 held their 50th reunion at the Chalet Landhaus.

You don't need a golden ticket to see Monticello High School's performance of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Junior! The students have been working hard to prepare for this year's theatrical performance, which is a great event for the entire family.
