These questions and others will be answered at the next Green County Master Gardeners Association meeting, being held on Thursday, October 24, 2019, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Green County Justice Center, Multi-Purpose Rooms, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.

Wilhelm Tell Guild Annual Meeting

The Tell Guild’s Annual Meeting will be held in the small dining room at the New Glarus Hotel on Sunday, October 20, 2019, at 6:00 p.m.
This will be a chance to discuss how this year went, ideas for use and care of the properties, supporting other Tell weekend events like Art in the Park and Alpine Fest, and how we can contribute to the 175th Anniversary of the settling of New Glarus celebration next summer.
The Tell Board consists of Mel Judd, Kayla Zimmerman, Ben Bedward, Megan Buol, Kevin Lague, Angie Rear, Chris Rear and Tiffany Schwoerer.

New Glarus Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show

The New Glarus Car Truck & Motorcycle Show was also held on Sunday, October 13, 2019.
Although it was a bit cold in downtown New Glarus, organizers said that over 60 cars were lined up on 1st Street and 5th Avenue.

Harvest Fest at the Swiss Historical Village

The annual Harvest Fest celebration was held on Sunday, October 13, at the Swiss Historical Village and Museum.
Visitors enjoyed a variety of demonstrations and despite the cold there were quite a few people at the event.

New Glarus Downtown Trick or Treat

On Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., participating downtown businesses will be open to trick or treaters! Costumed children 12 and under are invited to downtown New Glarus for spooktacular Halloween trick or treating at any of the local merchants with orange and black balloons outside their doors. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Trick or treat maps and bags are available at the Chamber depot on the 26th from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m., at 418 Railroad Street. The Monticello FCCLA Community Connection (MFCC) invites you to a night of fun and painting! “Signs by Caitlin” customizes your materials, according to your selection of stain color, size/shape, and design when you register. Then, they will take us step-by-step through the process of putting it all together to create a piece worthy of a wall in your home, or as a personalized, loving gift!

40th Annual Native American Indian Artifact Show

The Badger State Archaeological Society will hold its 40th Annual Native American Indian Artifact Show on Sunday, October 20, 2019. The event will be held at the Rehmstedt Gym in Monticello School, 334 S. Main Street, Monticello, WI, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost of admission is $2.00 for 14 years and older.

Welcome Table Community Dinner

On Monday, September 30th, friends and neighbors in Monticello gathered for a monthly meal at Zwingli UCC, 416 E. Lake Avenue. The September gathering hosted folks of all ages for an evening of pasta and conversation. The Hands of Change Youth Service Group served over 50 people from the area. Pasta, salad and deserts were offered free of charge.
Bruce Pahl, Jodie Hollis, Pastor Lance Smith and the Hands of Change crew decorated and prepared components of this meal. Youth members helped serve, clear and do dishes after the meal!

Haunticello

Haunticello 2019 is coming to Monticello High School Friday, October 25! The Art Club is looking forward to bringing the annual fun and scares to children and adults of all ages.
We will again have a costume contest with monetary prizes in four different age categories: 18+, 7-12th grade, K-6th grade, and 4K and under. There will be games with various prizes, a concession stand with walking tacos and treats available and a haunted tour around the school with lots of creepy monsters and beings.

Please help the FCCLA of Monticello collect non-perishable food items, household supplies or monetary donations ready for pick up by an FCCLA member on Thursday, October 31, 2019, from 3:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
