Monticello Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Board of Directors of The Monticello Foundation, Inc. met October 16, 2019, and voted to award sixteen scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to Monticello grads currently in college. Monticello EIE Grants Awarded

The Monticello Excellence in Education Fund announced the 2019 Grant Recipients at a presentation during a recent Monticello Schools staff reception. Since 2007, the Monticello EIE has supported 138 grant projects and awarded more than $54,000 of funding into the school.

Belleville Downtown Cookie Walk and Holiday Tree Lighting

The Village of Belleville is creating a new holiday tradition. On December 7, 2019, at 4:00 p.m., come to Library Park, pick up a ballot, and stroll down Main Street to visit businesses, get cookies, and view their decorated windows.
Return your vote for the best window to Library Park by 5:00 p.m. Santa will be there to greet you and you can warm up with hot cocoa. Then gather around the gazebo.

Toys N' Trailers

The Belleville and New Glarus FFA clubs are holding a toy drive to support the Toys for Tots program, in coordination with Edward Jones of Belleville, on Friday, December 13, 2019.
From 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., bring unused and unwrapped toys to the Belleville High School football field parking lot at 635 W. Church Street in Belleville, and help fill the trailer.

Belleville Community Giving Tree

It’s that time of year! The Giving Tree Program is beginning soon. This program helps provide gifts for children who are in need in the Belleville area.
The gift tags are available at the following Belleville locations: Belleville Chiropractic and Wellness Center, Belleville Hometown Pharmacy, First United Church of Christ, Grace United Methodist Church, Monona Bank, State Bank of Cross Plains, and Sugar River Bank.
<strong>The gifts are to be returned to the same location by Monday, December 9th. </strong> Cash donations are also accepted at each location.

Tribute to Veterans

JoAnne Krueger from the Belleville Senior Center has under taken a project to write stories of local Veterans’ experiences, to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American Legion this year, and also 100-year anniversary charter of Duppler-Smith Post 460, which happens next year.

Watershed Grant Funding Awarded

Wisconsin’s latest round of Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grants has been awarded to 27 groups of farmers by the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). Farmers will work with conservation agencies and organizations to address soil and water issues specific to their local conditions.
