Lady Ponies Take Down Panthers

On February 13th, the Monticello Lady Ponies hosted Juda. With a 6-point lead at the half, the Ponies went on to win the game, 56-43.
Miah Brokopp poured in 31 points for Monticello, while Harley Disch scored 17 points and Mackie Errthum scored 4 points.

Lady Knights Beat Waterloo

The New Glarus Lady Knights played at Marshall on February 11th. Down by 21 at the half, the girls battled hard in the second half but could not catch up. The final score was Marshall 75, New Glarus 44.
Dylan Noll and Brooke Watrud both had 8 points for the Knights, while Jaylynn Benson scored 7 points.
New Glarus fared better on February 14th when they hosted Waterloo. Leading at the half, New Glarus went on to win the game 57-44.

Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser

Make plans to attend the New Glarus Music Booster’s Spaghetti Supper on Sunday, February 23, 2020. The supper will be held at the New Glarus High School from 4:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Satisfy your craving for a delicious spaghetti dinner while being entertained by the student’s musical talents.
Tickets are $10.00 each (5 and under eat for free) and will be available to purchase at the door.
Proceeds from the event benefit New Glarus High School music programs, including upcoming band and choir trips.

Freezin' For A Reason

A New Glarus High School Team participated in the Polar Plunge on February 15, 2020. The team raised over two thousand dollars for Special Olympics.

Monticello Officers Take Part in Polar Plunge

Monticello Police Department's Chief Szvon Conway and Sergeant Larry Harkey participated in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge in Madison last week, raising over five hundred dollars for the Wisconsin Special Olympics.

Donate Blood at the Monticello Community Blood Drive

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.

Community First Aid Training

Belleville Area EMS will be at the Belleville Public Library on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, to provide drop-in first aid training for the community. All are welcome.
Would you be prepared to help someone in an emergency? Learn crucial steps that you can take after calling 911 to fill the gap until first responders can arrive.
Drop-in training stations will include hands-only CPR, dealing with choking, using an AED (defibrillator), administering Narcan in the event of an overdose, and Stop the Bleed training.

Belleville Food Pantry Receives Donation

A donation of $760 was recently presented to the Belleville Food Pantry. This contribution was made possible through a locally designated allocation resulting from the Belleville Area CROP Hunger Walk that took place last fall. Lunch and Learn

Join the ADRC of Southwest Wisconsin Green County office for our 2020 Lunch & Learn series. We will be partnering with local speakers and organizations to provide presentations over the lunch hour. The Lunch & Learn series will be on the first Friday of every month from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Green County Government Services Building, N3152 State Road 81 Monroe, in the Multi-Purpose Rooms. All Lunch & Learn presentations are free of charge but reservations for lunch are required.
