Green County Sheriff's Office Response to COVID-19

The Green County Sheriff’s Office has been working cooperatively with the Green County Public Health Department, Green County Emergency Management Division, Green County Government Officials, area law enforcement and first responders, healthcare providers and other community leaders to exchange information and provide our best response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic. Our agency has instituted a number of changes that may be noticeable to the community.

Green County Reports First Positive Case of COVID-19

The Green County-Green County Public Health Department announced on March 20th that there is one confirmed positive COVID-19 case in Green County. This individual is 29 years old and is in isolation at home. There is no known direct contact with a positive case, although there is known travel in Florida. Out of respect for the patient’s privacy, no additional information will be provided.
“We are in contact with this individual and will directly notify close contacts with additional guidance,” said RoAnn Warden, Director/Health Officer.

Green County K-9 Retires

Green County K-9 Officer Ike retired from the Green County Sheriff's Office on March 18, 2020. K-9 Ike began his career with the Green County Sheriff's Office on September 15, 2012, when he joined his handler, Deputy Cody Kanable, on patrol.
During his almost eight-year career, Ike was deployed almost 700 times, resulting in almost 200 arrests, the seizure of over $40,000 in U.S. Currency, approximately $800,000 in illegal drugs and represented the agency in providing presentations to youth and community groups monthly.
