Golf Courses Close as Part of Governor's ^Safer at Home^" Order"

The great, but somewhat crusty, Mark Twain once proclaimed: “Golf is a good walk spoiled.”
The way many golf courses in the area feel, Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has also spoiled their good walk.
Evers issued a “Safer At Home” order on March 25, stating that non-essential businesses must close in an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. In that order, Evers listed golf courses among non-essential businesses, but allowed other outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and walking to continue.

Due to restrictions, Timmy couldn't go into the facility but walked around the outside waving and bringing joy.

New Glarus Walking Hunt

During these uncertain times, New Glarus mom Katie Beal has set up a walking hunt for the community’s kids, and it’s called the New Glarus Walking Hunt.
The second week’s theme will go from April 2 to April 8 and the theme will be flowers, and week three will be from April 9 to April 15, and that theme will be bunnies and eggs.

New Glarus Community 175th Celebration Geranium Group

Our community will be celebrating 175 years as a settlement this summer. Founded in 1845 by a group of Swiss Glarners, New Glarus has held strong to traditions. One of the most obvious and appreciated is the beautiful flowers adorning homes, businesses, parks, street corners and more. Visiting Switzerland or seeing photos and postcards one can't help but notice the overflowing containers of blooms.

Village of Monticello Spring Clean Up Day

All Items Must be Separated/Sorted and Curbside By 7:00 a.m., on Monday, April 20, 2020
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than 4’wide x 10’ long x 4’ high.
Items accepted are: Furniture and miscellaneous junk, burn barrels to be discarded must be empty, brush and scrap lumber with no tree limbs over 6” in diameter or 8’ in length – in separate pile stacked parallel with street, paint cans must be empty, or open with paint completely dried.

Vehicle Parade to Show Support For Special Needs Families

All families from the Monticello/New Glarus areas that have family members who have special needs which require car rides for therapeutic purposes to help ease the stress for the isolation are invited to take part in a very special event. There will be a guided vehicle parade around Monticello on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Please remember to respect the Safer at Home guidelines and maintain social distancing.

Temporary Changes to Meal Service

In order to limit interactions and exposure during this time, the Sugar River Senior Center will be scaling back delivery days of meals effective March 30th.
Participants WILL continue to receive the same number of meals each week. <strong> Deliveries will ONLY be made on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. </strong>Participants will receive two meals on Tuesday and Thursdays and one meal on Fridays.
