Luckily, in mid-March, Gilda’s Club moved all of their free cancer support groups, healthy living activities, and cancer-related counseling to a virtual platform.

Sugar River Euchre League's 90th Season Cancelled

Due to COVID-19, the 90th (2020/2021) season of the Sugar River Euchre League is cancelled. This is the first time since 1938 that the Euchre league has not played. Due to the Great Depression and other factors, the league suspended play from 1936 until 1939. In 1938, Forrest Henderson and Ike Mryland promoted a Euchre tournament to rekindle interest in the league. In 1939, the league was reformed.

Wisconsin Voting Deadlines and Facts for November 2020

Wisconsin voters and election officials have plans in place for the Presidential Election on November 3, 2020.
“We want to make sure every voter who is eligible to vote this fall can do so safely and securely,” said Meagan Wolfe, Administrator for the Wisconsin Elections Commission. “We learned a great deal from our elections in April, May and August and believe we have solid plans in place for November.”

Dane County Schools Required to Start Grades 3-12 Virtually

Due to the current average COVID-19 case count in Dane County, Public Health Madison & Dane County is issuing Emergency Order #9, which may be viewed in its entirety here: https://publichealthmdc.com/documents/2020-08-21_Order_9.pdf. The order requires all county schools to begin the school year virtually for students in grades 3-12, closing them to in-person pupil instruction, effective August 24, 2020, at 12:01 a.m. Grades K-2 may have in-person pupil instruction, with precautions outlined in the Order.
