GERALD S. DONOVAN

Gerald S. Donovan, age 85, passed away August 11, 2020, in Madison, Wisconsin.
He was born and raised in Madison, and graduated from Edgewood High School before attending Michigan State University and Marquette University and serving in the Army. He graduated from Marquette Dental School in 1961.
In 1961, Jerry, as he was known, married Joan (Francois). The couple had three children, Steve, Dan, and Joe. Jerry was a dentist in Belleville, working alongside his wife for many years. He retired from his practice in 2007.

Esther L. Disch, age 95 of New Glarus, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at the Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. She was born on September 17, 1924, at Albany, WI, to her parents, Andrew and Emma (Phillipson) Waage.

The fact that V-J Day fell a day before the planned centennial observance for this year added a purposefulness and quiet peace to the program held on the church lawn last Thursday.

Increase in Confirmed COVID-19 Cases in Green County

Green County surpassed 200 reported COVID-19 cases on August 14, 2020. Green County now has a cumulative case count of 221 (as of August 18, 2020). As of August 18th there are 54 active cases of COVID-19 in Green County, and one individual is currently hospitalized. The first Green County case of COVID-19 was reported on March 20, 2020. To date, the County is reporting one death.
