Outdoor Movie Nights in Monticello

The Monticello Public Library is excited to present several more Outdoor Movie Night events on Wednesday, September 30th, around 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 17th, around 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday, October 28th, around 6:00 p.m., in the parking lot of Zwingli United Church of Christ. The parking lot will open one hour prior to the film beginning. Zwingli Church is located at 416 E. Lake Avenue, right next to the library. Drive or walk in to watch the film. You can bring your own seat if you wish.

Monticello Fall Clean Up

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020.
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.

Absentee Voting Information for the Village of Monticello

The Village of Monticello is continuing to accept absentee ballot requests. After receiving your ballot through the mail, residents can return their completed ballots to the Village Hall, 140 N. Main Street, in the drop slot in the entryway of the Clerk’s Office, or send them back by mail.
In-person absentee voting will be at the Clerk’s Office from October 20-30, by appointment only. Please make an appointment by calling (608) 938-4383.
The polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at the Village Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Dane County Cuts Ribbon on Cutting-Edge Technology that Turns Cow Manure into Drinkable Water

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi joined representatives from AQUA Innovations and GL Dairy Biogas LLC, along with three local dairy producers to cut the ribbon on cutting-edge technology that turns cow manure from area farms into drinkable water on September 15th. This community nutrient concentration system (NCS) is believed to be the first in the United States and is part of Dane County’s ongoing effort to clean up area lakes and expand its renewable natural gas network among local farms.

Belleville Fall Clean Up Day

Wednesday, October 7, 2020, is Belleville’s annual fall clean-up day.
This is the time to place items that do not fit in your trash cart at the curb to dispose of them (see list of acceptable items below). Please place these items neatly at your curb next to your cart by 6:00 a.m., on the day of the event.

Human Trafficking: In Our Own Backyard

Belleville Area Cares Coalition, along with six other Dane County Coalitions, is offering two virtual presentations on October 7, 2020 (6:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.), and then on November 11, 2020 (6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.). Ron Heinrich, from SlaveFree Madison, will be our guest speaker on October 7, 2020. Then on November 11, 2020, Theresa Flores, author of Slave Across the Street will be our guest speaker.
