Sgt. Arthur Zweifel telephoned his parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. K. Zweifel, the first of the week, saying he had arrived at San Francisco, California, from the Pacific.
Pvt. Alvin Zweifel is stationed with a quartermaster unit on the island of Sheyma, off the coast of Alaska. He fills orders in the clothing and hardware section.
Corp. Ray Engen is at home after service in the Pacific with the Army.
Roger T. Hefty, Aerm 3/c, is on leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Hefty, from the Atlantic Fleet Weather Station at Norfolk, Virginia.

Phil Wittwer, age 67 of Oregon, passed away from his battle with lung cancer on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home surrounded by his twin daughters, son-in-law, and grandson. He was born on January 9, 1954, in Monroe, WI, to his parents Gilbert and Ella (Funseth) Wittwer.

The Monticello Community Club will be grilling 500 half chickens this year. Half chickens will be sold at $7.00 each (not a complete dinner…just chicken). The basting recipe remains the same as what’s used at Homecoming.
