Belleville Girls Basketball Finishes 2020-21 Season on an Up Note

On Tuesday, February 9th, the Belleville Wildcats started their playoff season by traveling to Platteville to take on the Hillmen. The Hillmen came into tournament play as the 3rd seeded team, so the Wildcats knew they had their work cut out for them. From the start, you could tell there was great energy from the players and in the gym so you could tell it was going to be a fun night. The start of the game saw the Hillmen go into half time with a 4-point lead over the Wildcats.

Create a Map of New Glarus

The year 2020 challenged us all, individually and collectively. Share your stories of the past year on a map that shows where you went, how you stayed connected, and what has changed in your life. The New Glarus Public Library is providing art supplies for community members to draw and paint maps of New Glarus. The project is for all ages and all skill levels.

New Glarus Vision to Hold Fisheree at Hoesly Pond

New Glarus Vision will be holding a Fisheree at Hoesly Pond to raise money for the Books 4 Kids program, and to introduce kids to ice fishing. This is a family event and all are welcome. The Fisheree will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Hoesly Pond is located at the corner of Highway 69 and County W. Enter from Hoesly Drive.

The Monticello Sports Booster Club is holding a drive up Chili Dinner on Saturday, February 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Chili may be picked up from the circle drive at the school.

Winter Weather Gives Blood Donation the Cold Shoulder

When temperatures drop, many regular activities come to a halt, but the American Red Cross needs your help to stop winter weather from giving hospital patients the cold shoulder. Those who are eligible to donate are urged to cozy up to giving blood, platelets or plasma to help hospital patients now, and throughout the pandemic.

CARL R. MOLTER

Carl Raymond Molter, 85 of Belleville, WI, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Alpharetta, GA, where he had been a resident for the past four years. Carl was born in Sheboygan, WI, on November 17, 1935, to Herbert Molter and Phoebe (Meengs) Molter.

T/Sgt. Richard Krugjohann, who has been in the Pacific war area, has been discharged. He and his wife, who has been living at Rockford, Illinois, visited relatives here last week.
Pfc. Roy Altman, who has been stationed at Fort Lawson, Washington, has been discharged.
