New Glarus Community Blood Drive

New Glarus Bible Church, 207 6th Street, is hosting a Blood Drive, sponsored by Shepherd of the Hills, on Friday, April 2, 2021, from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. All blood donations are now tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Please see https://www.redcrossblood.org/AntibodyTesting for more details.
The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

Village of Monticello Spring Clean Up Day

All Items Must be Separated/Sorted and Curbside By 7:00 a.m., on Monday, April 19, 2021
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than 4’wide x 10’ long x 4’ high.
Items accepted are: Furniture and miscellaneous junk, burn barrels to be discarded must be empty, brush and scrap lumber with no tree limbs over 6” in diameter or 8’ in length – in separate pile stacked parallel with street, paint cans must be empty, or open with paint completely dried.

Monticello Prepares for Village-Wide Garage Sales May 20-22, 2021

Garage Sale Enthusiasts - It is time again to begin thinking about the Monticello Chamber of Commerce annual community-wide spring garage sales. The sales will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, May 20th, 21st and 22nd. The Annual Community-Wide Garage Sale features sales throughout the community, clearly indicated on maps with categories of sales items. The spreadsheet will also indicate which days the sale will be held. The maps, with spreadsheets, will be available at multiple locations in Monticello.

Monticello Lions Do Clean-Up

The Monticello Lions Clean-Up Committee recently did road side trash pickup on roads leading into the village. As you can see, there was much trash picked up. The purpose of this was to help beautify the entrances to the village.
Members of the committee are Lion Linn Lederman, Lion Brian Hoffmaster, Lion Mike Klassy and Lion Mike Davis. Thank you guys, for all your hard work!

Wilson Resigns from Village of Belleville

The Belleville Village Board held a special meeting on March 25, 2021. The meeting was held virtually. As part of the special board meeting, the board discussed the proposed sale of $970,000 of General Obligation Promissory Notes. Of that $970,000 the majority of the money, $933,260.45, will be for capital projects this year. The capital projects include repair to the dam. Village Administrator Brian Wilson noted that it is expected that once the repairs are completed, FEMA will refund 80% of the project.

Prescription Drug Take Back Event to Be Held in Belleville

The community of Belleville, in cooperation with the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will hold a Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Belleville Police Department, 61 Frederick Street, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Please enter on W. Pearl Street, where you will drive through the garage. You do not need to leave your vehicle, this is a contact free event.
To keep everyone safe, collection sites will follow local COVID-19 guidelines and regulations.
