ADRC Offers Healthy Living with Diabetes

More than 100 million adults in the U.S. are now living with diabetes or pre-diabetes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). While that statistic is startling, there is good news. People with diabetes or pre-diabetes can improve their health by joining a Virtual - Healthy Living with Diabetes workshop sponsored by the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Green County. The program has been researched and proven to improve the health of adults with diabetes or pre-diabetes.

Green County Public Health Hosting Regular COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics

Green County Public Health is now offering COVID-19 vaccine clinics every Wednesday from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at the Green County Government Services building. This schedule is dependent upon our vaccine supply. <strong>An appointment is required.</strong>

Belleville High School to Hold ^Promcoming^"

Promcoming will be a combination of Prom 2020 and Homecoming 2020. The theme this year is Glo in the Dark. This event will celebrate the class of 2021's junior prom and senior homecoming.
The scheduled date for this event is April 24, 2021. This event is scheduled to take place in the Belleville High School Gym. In order to ensure safety guidelines, we are looking to invite seniors to attend the event for the entire duration and have underclassmen sign up to attend time slots.

Green County Clean Sweep Program

Green County will be offering another Clean Sweep Hazardous Materials Collection Program for county farmers and residents starting on May 1, 2021, and running through October 30, 2021. The Clean Sweep collection site is located at the Green County Landfill, W2002 County Road SS, Brodhead.

How Safe is Your Drinking Water?

According to the University of Wisconsin Center for Watershed Science and Education, WI Well Water Quality Viewer (uwsp.edu) at https://gissrv3.uwsp.edu/webapps/gwc/pri_wells/, 24% of private wells tested in Green County show bacterial contamination. Of those, 10% have tested positive for E. coli. Also, 18% of Green County’s tested wells show nitrate levels above the safe limit of 10 parts million and 46% exhibit some level of contamination by the pesticide Atrazine.

In response to the COVID-19 virus, government has placed many restrictions on the American people. Many of these restrictions infringe upon the American people’s God-given right to liberty. However, many government officials who promote such restrictions say that they are justified because protecting life is far more important than protecting liberty. They may be partially right, but to what extent can government rightly destroy our liberties for the sake of saving lives?

Lady Knights Win Over Cuba City

The New Glarus girls volleyball team ended their season with a win at Cuba City in three, 25-19; 25-9; 25-21.
Ellie Eichelkraut had 6 kills and 1 block while Alexah Mellenberger had 16 kills, 2 aces and 12 assists, Grace Nommensen had 11 kills, 3 blocks, 15 assists and 2 aces, Lindsey Schadewalt had 5 kills and 3 blocks and Carrah Bainbridge had 20 digs.
