Update From Friends of New Glarus Woods State Park

The Friends of New Glarus Woods volunteers spent over 160 hours this summer refurbishing the park's 15-year-old play structure. Rainbow Play Systems of Madison donated lumber to renovate numerous bridges as well as hardware to repair the structure's slides. The volunteers stained both the play structure and the observation platform to freshen up the day-use area.

Monticello FCCLA and Lions Club Food Drive

The Monticello FCCLA and the Monticello Lions Club are very excited to host our food drive for Green Cares Food Pantry again. We will now be combining our efforts for the food drive.
Food bags were distributed to people that live in town on November 2nd, and pick up will take place on Saturday, November 6th, from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. If you live out of town and would like to donate, please feel free to drop off at the Lions Shelter in the park the morning of November 6th.

Monticello High School to Present Schoolhouse Rock Live Junior

Monticello is once again doing a musical. It's great to be back doing live performances! This year's selection is Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr. Our performances are going to be Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00, per person.

Green County Public Health Offering COVID-19 Booster Doses

Beginning Thursday, October 28th, Green County Public Health began offering COVID-19 booster doses of all three COVID-19 vaccines – Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson. Green County Public Health will offer the booster doses at our regularly scheduled walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m., at Green County Public Health, N3152 State Road 81, Monroe.

Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Kicks Off Art Contest

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation has kicked off a contest that challenges all 4-H members to explore their creativity.
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Celebrates the Arts Art Contest is open to any current Wisconsin 4-H member, with cash prizes totaling nearly $1,000. The contest will be held virtually, with photos of all entries submitted electronically. Entries are being accepted now through December 31, 2021.

The 10th Annual Turkey Drop is Here!

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since our first Turkey Drop? Let’s make it a memorable one!! Please join the Belleville high school and middle school students in helping provide turkeys to those in need so that they too can have a happy “Turkey Day!”
Please help us reach our goal of 50 birds!! You can donate turkeys and other Thanksgiving meal fixings to Burreson’s, or come to the corner of Main Street and Frederick Street, at Woods of Baladou (the old parking lot of Francois Ford), to drop off your turkey from 4:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m., on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Volunteers Needed at Sugar River Senior Center in Belleville

The Sugar River Senior Center needs volunteers to deliver noon time meals on weekdays. Consider helping once a week, once a month or as a sub! Scheduling is based on volunteers’ availability. Drivers are offered mileage reimbursement at .56 cents/mile, and provided with additional liability insurance. It doesn’t take much time from your schedule and means so much to area seniors who receive these meals.

Road Rally is Finally Here!

The Belleville Road Rally is THIS Saturday, November 6th. Meet us at Schwoegler’s Sugar River Lanes on Saturday morning. First car will head out about 8:00 a.m. Do not arrive prior to 7:00 a.m. Enjoy a breakfast sandwich and beverage inside the bowling alley while you wait. Fill up your gas tanks!
